I want to make some original sculptures to go in my aquarium. In your opinion what would be the best media for this project?
I do want an unfinished / ruins sort of feel to it but I also want to be sure the media doesn't prove toxic to the tank's occupants.

Good idea !!
I think you have to mold your piece cause i'm not sure sculpey or apoxie are not toxic or if they can be submerged without causing damage...
Maybe the best could be cold cast porcelain....
Hope this help !!

Can you point me in a direction to find those supplies? I googled it but found finished products instead of actual supplies.

I've found that http://www.smooth-on.com/ products are pretty easy to use and have a few good guides on thier site. Not sure how they compare pricewise to the site FXMEN mentioned though.

Nevertheless, you should send a email to Alumilite and ask for possible toxicity... after all, cold cast porcelain is a blend of resin and porcelain powder !!

Thanks SO much for the input guys! I have a lot of research to do now. Hopefully I'll have a finished product to show off here soon :)
