very cool stuff. the poses are dynamic as hell and the facial expressions are dead on!

I would have like the shadows to be more in contrast to the base color, the opposite to the light source that is, it looks a bit dull at the moment. but the piece is well drawn.

thanx for the crit man....yea you're right..the levels are not very well adjusted...I was doing this as a demonstration and I never really went back to fine tune it. I'll have to fix up the issues for the final character-set layout.

I like his jacket, which seems a combination of a traditional kunk-fu jacket and a hoodie. Nice.

Nice, I like the idea of urban fighters. His faces are nice and the poses look real down to earth. I'm working on something kind of like it based off of one of my favorite films 'The Last Dragon'. I love the poses you've worked out and this has inspired me to put my character into his own. Great stuff!

thanks guys...the idea behind the characters I'm working on is basically an urban version of traditional martial arts. This guy is wearing an 1800 chinese peasant vest with an updated look. I know it's probably been done a milion times before, but I'm hoping after I get my 40 characters down, I'll be able to have unique traits to each one of them. :-)

The colour and shading could indeed be tightened up, but as a functional character concept this is excellent. A lot of personality, and all the necessary details in the costume and face to recreate in a game or film.

Naomi-Thanks...glad you dig them.....I'm trying to do about 40 of these design for the show...u think that's a bit too much?...hahaha....Gotta set the goals always high you know. Nice sketches on the blog btw. I hope the winter break will gave you some time to dive back into your old sketching routine....(and gaming routine too)..lol
ruzkin- yea ....I'm so mad....I was doing this in a strangley lit room as a demo. After I got home and uploaded it..i was like...maaaannn wth..values are off.....so lesson number one is.... (Don't ever have your computer in an environment with too many windows and spot lights..hahahahaha......I'm glad my own studio is in a basement... I will make the requested chages for the finals tho..thanks for all the great feedback guys..I hope some of you can make it to the magfest www.magfest.org
