I played this game a while back but didnt get into it for some incredibly ODD reason, this game is the fucking bomb.
So addictive, free and simple!

It's made by one person, and it's one of the best games I've played in a while. Highly recommend!

I haven't played Cave Story, but Eternal Daughter (http://podiumgames.net/eternaldaughter/) is also free, fun and awesome (some parts are extremely hard though. The ending makes it worth persevering through the final boss). The musical score is excellent as well.
