This image was taken from a video clip I found online. I'm looking for better quality shots of the city from the turn of the century. Buildings (close-up or panos), the L, people and costume, the bridges, etc. for a series of illustrations I''ve just started. Dark & dirty grimy type stuff...I have some I've found but they're small and the detail (which is important in the drawings) is hard to make out.

Any links or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My first suggestion would be the New York Public Library Picture Collection (http://digital.nypl.org/mmpco/index.cfm)

This (http://digital.nypl.org/mmpco/searchresultsK.cfm?keyword=1900+new+york) should give you a good start.

This is great. Found several useful photos. A great resource..don't know why I didn't think of the NYPL???

Thanks again
