i've only been to san fran once back when i was in high school and am not sure how far my hotel is. i'll be at 326 south aiport blvd and according to mapquest its about 10 miles, but i don't have car and was looking at alternative means to taking a taxi. i've tried trasit.511.org trip planner and results for taking a bus is like 13 hours or something. that has got to be a glitch but if not, is it really that far? i don't wanna get killed on paying taxi prices

Taxi's aren't THAT expensive if you share it with others. What time are you getting there? I'm sure there are going to be others at the airport. Plus, taxis are a good way of getting to know one another pre-workshop.

according to google local (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&saddr=800+S+Airport+Blvd,+San+Francisco,+CA+94128&daddr=57+stillman+street,+sf&ie=UTF8&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=49.089956,66.181641&z=11&ll=37.664255,-122.270966&spn=0.386464,0.517044&om=1) youre 11 miles away. if thats where your hotel is, youre going to be miserable, you should stay at a hostel.

its at least a $30 cab drive from there each way, every time. why are you staying so far away? it cant be any cheaper than the hostels....

my friend booked the hotel with orbitz.com and that's the hotel he got. a hostel sounds a whole lot closer plus a whole lot cheaper, i'm gonna need to figure something out quick

cancel your hotel reservation, you get 24 hours notice at least, so youre still good. book one of the hostels, youre gonna HATE being all the way out there. trust me, crashing with the other attendees is a big part of the experience. do yourself the favor and save a ton of cash too.

Heh, see if you can book at the HI Downtown - that place is going to be so packed with CA attendees... ;)

yea it sounds a whole lot better. i was already planning on going to a hostel but my friend said to stay with him and his mom, but lookin at 30 bucks to and fro sounds horrible! my 200$ budget is all i can afford. does the concept art group price still count now or is that done already?

I *think* the special price was only offered until the end of November, but it's still pretty cheap. I think.
