The workshop is getting close... and yet again, I've come up short on time to print out a portfolio and business cards, (and I sure a few others have as well).

Does anybody know of any decent, quick, and accessible print houses that might be able to print a single portfolio and say... 100 business cards on short notice?

You might still be able to get things printed out and shipped to you by using some of the online servises (personally I like www.mpix.com, but there are a few others out there). Locally, I only know Kinko and OfficeMax. Their print quality is not bad, but most time you run into staffs who know nothing of printing. So make sure all your files are prepared and print-ready. You can even bring in your own paper for bettery quality prints.

psprint.com is located in emeryville/oakland which is across the bay about 20 min or so by car. they are a fairly large company and i have had good experience with them. im pretty sure they can do rush orders and they seemed reasonable in price. otherwise i woudl try a local printing place to you.

I think I might have a lead on a place close to my home, thanks a bunch. I hope someone else is able to use the info you've provided.

overnightprints.com can do 100 business cards for $10, plus like $15 for overnight shipping.

As for your folio, I'm not sure. I am just going to my staples on Wednesday night and printing what I have on 11 x 17, then trimming. It's worked in the past... :)

One question for you guys that are experienced with portfolio. How do you put the images together? Do you bound them? Or just slide them in a presentation case like this (http://www.utrechtart.com/dsp_view_product.cfm?classId=2211&subclassID=221111&brandname=&item=51546)? I'm thinking of using the latter one, but I won't be able to fill all 24 slots there, and I'm thinking of cutting off the extra ones to avoid empty slots, or fill them up with sketches. Any input is greatly appriciated.

If there's a MinuteMan Press by you they're a jump above Kinkos and the like. They can definitely handle the card run.
