hi, my name's Yung-Kee. here's my sketchwork...

I really like wacomming while I'm not doing acrylic painting for my AP portfolio, just so I can do stuff that's really entertaining for myself and to stretch my artistic capabilities a little bit.

I've been drawing on the computer for about 2 years and I'm finally getting used to doing colour (it's so damn tricky on the computer)... but in any case I'm not up to par with most of you guys here. please help critique my work!

Here's my most recent work, I'm doing it right now so getting some feedback before I go further in would be awesome.

welcome yungks.ae. Nice start like your loose and rough style.
(you could add more detail on the trousers and boots of the soldier as you did on the upper part of the body)
keep going whant to see more!

Some really strong stuff here dude. You have a strong use of colours I can see! Your proportions seem to be off in alot of stuff, maybe some anatomy is in order? Keep it up!

hahahahh that's really funny, because I always consider drawing my much stronger side of art.
Yes, life drawing lessons are in session for me, and I am slowly improving at it. When it comes to photoshop and using my tablet I tend to not care about anatomy (which I know I should) and focus more on colours, see I've only been working colours for 7 years while for drawing it's been all my life.

thanks for the tip, I'll work full on, on anatomy now!

I also want to add that there is some problems with the image above, in that I want to add more detail on the helmet, but when I do it gives too much focus on that area, and I am afraid to add detail to the rest of the armor (making the overall detail a little imbalanced)

Hey man. You're going to pwnz everyone in but a few years, lol...

I see that you live in Vancouver. I do as well! Do you go to Byng Arts? I think it's the only school in van that offers AP art, not sure though.

Hi,
to be honest with you I'm not really content with telling everybody what school I attend through the internet but it's not Byng, although I've considered it a couple of times. I'm only prepping for the Art AP portfolio.

The AP portfolio I'm working on is totally different from my digital art, by the way. No samurai, space creatures, and the like :)

scrapped the head from my sketch cause it didn't fit well with the overall colour/mood i wanted to portray.

school tomorrow, trying to type this as quietly as I can 'cause if my parents catch me awake...

EDIT:: I'm aware of some of the anatomical mistakes!!!! please don't bite me!

Wow, your pretty damn good to be fifteen :) Great work on that pencil, although
I must say I don't really like the last digital one cause the colours don't make any sense at all, however, I do want to see more pencil stuff from you! :)

Keep it up, and please grab an anatomy book and start studying , it would bring your stuff to a higher level.

Well...wow. I could definitely learn a thing or two or three from you. I look forward to see what you do with your wip for the teen challenge... Like was previously stated, watch out for the anatomy, but the painting? Colors and everything...it's very nice. Very nice. Great tones.

hello yunk-kee!
nice to see someone the same age!(1991 rite?)who is owning my ass
http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/171/warriorah4.jpg
this one looks good.
general crits-
stroke brush economy.
think more about placing your strokes instead of pointless randonism, youll work quicker this way too.
facial features are ok, but need a lot of refining.
bust out the mirror and do self portraits
other than that, rad job, keep pushing out the pixels!

Hey man, nice stuff in here. Although with a lot of stuff there doesn't seem to be much structure and foundation. Maybe some more anatomy and stuff might be in order. I agree with blanq about the strokes etc. Good progress duder.

Hey man. Great work as always. I'm so goddamn jealous with your comfort with colourz.

But, like everyone else has been saying: anatomies! Proportion! Also, maybe you should tighten up your brushwork a little?

Keep up the great work :)

hi there,
i really like the emotion in some of characters faces, you capture it really well.
i think you should do some more traditional studies which will in turn improve your digital stuff.

anyway good luck.
