I had a professor once who scolded a student for hanging a painting up for critique right over a trash-can. It doesn't matter what level your art is at - you should never call it crap.

If you are interested, I've got this Concept Art 101 thread thing going on. . . there's a link in my sig. . .

Awsome thanks for sharing your class ^^
I never really got to finish explaining my thread because I did all the scanning, splicing, and touch ups in like 20 minutes and I had never used a scanner before(knew what it was for...didn't know how to use it.) My prisma color marker set is my cherished gold (my neighbor pulled their unloved marker tips out of the trash and said "hey you like to draw right! Here's some markers I know they'll just rot on my floor so in exchange them. I want you to draw me a really cool picture and color it." And since then I've been trying to brush up my drawing and learn everything I can about color, shading and yeah...this drawing was colored in those same prisma markers (plus a few from my abusing art class...they were in a bad place- I just took them out of the hands of my paintbrush, marker, pencil eraser abusing class room...GSwirley and I rant about to eachother*sighs*) Anywho...I just drew her one day specifically to practice coloring and my shading is...un experianced... so yeah that's how One was spawned. My first two were about the same quality so I might not post them. :D yay I s'plained it all...

i dont think its badly colored, it just depends on what kind of appraoch u are taking and aiming for, the coloring technique does take away from the drawing in that it looks as if u tried really hard to fill those areas into flat colored sections. primas and art markers in general may not be the best solution for doing large fills. u are gonna run through those pretty fast and they get pricey. im color blind so i cant really comment on the trees being green or not but the drawing is nice. it is well composed and there is a lot of emotion and character behind it. if you want to try experimenting with depth n color through the art makers u could really get some nice stuff from them but try using them as paint brushes instead of fills, otherwise just scan it in and pshop it. i started learning art markers by grabbing a few values of one color and shading simple objects and blocks. u can get by w one really good market that has not dried out but the more range u have the better.

wow that must be hard on your work : (
I still just have too little confidence to put more time into color, thanks for the tips but I don't actually have a computer (I'm using the school comps and pshops so it's kinda rough on my time for it.) other wise I'd be spending my penneys on paint and a comp, paint, and dnd supplies(mountain dew and pocky :D)
anyway thanks (sorry if I got carried away)
