Hey. This is my sketchbook thread.

Critiques! Critiques! NOW NOW NOW.

This is kinda oldish (month old), but I still like it, and it's still open for crits.

This is from yesterday, in need of critique. I'm using colored pencils with my markers now.

Same date as #1 up there.

Go right ahead and be as harsh as you like! I need it. Bad.

I just FINALLY began to boot that damn Disney style and finally am starting to pick up the spookish, smoky Western Toon style I'm striving for.

The quadruped is a character of mine. I had just been brushing up a bit on my mammal quadruped anatomy (he's not really a mammal, but he's close enough.), and just wanted to take my neww skillz and style for a test run.

The person I drew from life in Science class in school, trying realistic life drawing...and even though it's failage, it's still the best I've got in the realism department, sad to say. Normally, I wouldn't let anyone look at it, but I figured that if I tried and failed, then I need critique on it really, really bad. So there it is. And I guess it'll work as a ref frame for judging my progress in the future.

I know, I know, it's on lined paper. D:. But I still like it. I finally figured out a good way to sketch environments (I know how lame that sounds.).

Tomorrow (or around that time), I should have something new to scan, a realistic, completed picture. Probably going to be a life drawing of a dog or ferret or something.

hmmm...I don't know if (to blaz) you are talking about color balance or anatomy balance...there are two blue ones. I never noticed that the window is a little off and that (tiger boy blue's) hips seem a little thin and tilted to far forward...Is that apart of his personal anatomy? I don't remember what you said his deal was. I have to say that although your work does have a disneyish flavor it also has it's own spice (I can tell you are trying and would even if you didn't tell me all the time ^^ *hugs*) The lined one-are they the alien race you've been working on? I'm sorry I don't remember *curses father for not passing on his photographic memory*
Anyway ...
I personaly worship the vine^^ always will... sorry I love the light on the rocks. I never asked but did you use sharpies on that one too?

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyy! I'm on my mother's computer right now. I think I'll be jacking it from time to time. Anyway...

I'll be minding my windows from now on, alright. And furniture.

By "Tiger Boy", I'm assuming you mean the yeti. I have my own yeti design. People have their noseless nagas, their dragontaurs and whatnot, and I have a yeti that looks too much like a big cat of some sort. I TRY to make them more hominid and less felid. TLKFAA, you will be the death of me D:

His hips- my yetis are supposed to have long arms and short, stubby legs. I actually did screw up on them, sad to say. I focus a little too much on bones and not enough on muscle, I'm afraid.

And yes, the aliens there are the guians. I have a number of alien races, the guians are just entirely too much fun to draw. I'm always working on their anatomy, biology, and culture. But I'll try not to bore you guys on the innernetz too much with 'em. Anyway, they're about the size of a smallish dog, about 2" (.6 m) at the shoulder, about 25-30 lbs (11.3-13.6 kg), wetland creatures, nocturnal, and predatory.

And I'm glad you still like the vine!

I hate the color of the scan. I tried to fix it up, though. The navy blue is really supposed to be turquois.

Anyway...

This is THE Yeti of mine, not just some random one, drawn as realistically as I felt like putting out, and with an anatomy book on hand. I had no idea just how BAD my anthroid anatomy was. D: But now I'm getting to know better.

I'm really quite proud of this here, and now it must be BOMBED with critique.

This one's in the Crits section (http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1143746#post1143746), and I'll just stick it here for future reference.

I actually like how I managed to fix up this scan, here. Looks like it does in real life.

The architecture...That's a little bit different, but hey, I tried. Crits?
