I like it..looks very cool.
But...for some reason (and that reason may just be that I'm a wierdo), it doesnt look like the lady is actually looking at the man..Maybe its because shes lighter and it makes her look like shes not on the same level as him..I dunno..just when looking at it, i think shes looking over his right shoulder.
Maybe someone else could shed some light on why? or just tell me im wrong?

edit : god, i really wanna know what it is that makes me think shes not looking at him...someone please tell me!! lol, im too curious! Ive been staring at it for like 10 minutes, and cant figure it out!

Hi Tenllando

I love to look at these kind of illustrations. I have the huge artbook by Sanjulian which is filled with this kind of work - Highly photoreal illustrations with large areas filled by negative space. It is a book i hold most dearly! :)

I'm quite sure you know him, right? :)

Lovely craftsmanswork. And the detailpicture is stunning!

Hi Boom, yes I love the work of Manuel Perez "SANJULIAN", he is a master in the composition, I learn more of he work and used mor the negative space to balance the composition.
Durin a few time I work make coverbook, romance, terror gotic and SANJULIAN is inspiration for me.
In this case this illustration is make in pencil colred "Caran D'ache", I learn in personal classes pencil colored with the great illustrator JOSE GONZALEZ a master of pencil, he draw the comic VAMPIRELLA.

Great technique!

I must say i have the same 'depth-siiue' as amphex but ever so slightly. I don't think it's really noticeable. I also don't know what to do about it.

Nice picture really! How do you do this color penicil work? How big is the picture actually?

Makes sense, and being a cover art I suspected that the white had also a function as empty area where the publisher can write a synopsis.

Hello, Thank by commnents,

To Erik, 70-80 hours to make, the pencil colored is very slow technical, the real size 23" x 11". aprox.

To R_M, normally the empty space leave for put text, but is to balance the dark side rigth illustration, regards Tenllado:rolleyes:

Fantastic use of color, the greens and blues in the face work well. It's not something I would try, but I can see how effective it could be. ;)
