[ Not saying that the ship itself is round, mind you... ]

[ ...Just that it has, as a dominating design feature, large rounded areas. ]

[ This is quite open to interpretation. ]

edit: image updated. feedback noted and acted upon Steve255, thankyou. I added more detail as well as making the landing rig retractable. I think the extra details have helped the scene immensely.

A sketch with some halftone thrown on to it in Photoshop which looks kinda crappy. i might repost without the halftone.

Hey guys, here's my contribution:
Sorry, I only had 5 minutes, and my scanner broke, so I took this picture of my sketchbook with a mobile phone. Anyway, this is the Daily SKETCH Group, right? :)

I intend to paint this one when I get a break from being professional.

Real good responses overall to this one...
..MachZero, goran, Mitze, asaru, and Ivo - All containing good stuffs!

... but, Hideyoshi - That is just Marvelous. Fantastic Ship, dude. I think I speak for everyone when I say "Damn you".

... All that said, the fuzzy out-of-focus quality of the foreground beam doesn't work for me... I suspect a crisp one woulda worked better.

Hideyoshi-Great stuff bro.The beam doesn't bother me so much.
The rest is so strong.

Wow, thx a lot, Will! I really appreciate it!
Actually, I wanted to have some focal depth in the pic, so I blurred the front beam... It's on a separate layer since it was an after-thought. :)

Goran, thanks, buddy!

DeadLineStudios - Wow, what a beauty! Kinda tardy, but that's okay when the quality is so high. I hope we see more from you.

thermaloptic - Some real nice aspects to this... I agree with you about the looseness difficulty, but obviously it's a path worth exploring. Perspective's kinda wonky here, but I dig the ships.

After such great responses to this thread, I feel like making all the topics into Future Tech.

... I won't, but I feel like it. :teeth:
