So this is a pen sketch I did a long time ago. I found it in a drawer the other day and decided to color it in Painter. It's the first thing I've ever really done in Painter so any tips/critiques on that aspect would be great, since I don't really know what I'm doing. Particulary, tips on making the shading between colors on the skin seem more natural, as well as getting away from the "airbrushed" look that some of it has at the moment, would be awesome. Also if you notice anything dubious going on with the anatomy, composition, or whatever else please mention it. Thanks guys!

rendering is coming along nicely, I recommend you remove the layer with the pencils? it has too many stray marks detracting from your image.

Thanks for the comment! Yes, I will remove the pencil layer. I was using it as a guide for coloring, but when I hide the pencil layer the paint layer doesn't really stand alone all that well. I guess it just needs more detail?

You don't have to remove it, or hide it, just flatten the canvas and paint over the lines when you're satisfied with the basic colors!
