Hello, lately I've been in the process of putting a portfolio together and I thought I might try to get some feedback on the figure drawing section of it. Here is a good portion of them. I'd like to know what you think I should concentrate on next to improve. Thanks,
-Eric

wow those look good.. with so many images its hard to crit them, but for the most part they are pretty accurate!

Things to improve on, you could use soem work on foreshortening.. and it looks like you have trouble wiht limbs that overlap other limbs (more specifically, the limb that is under the other limb)

just keep practicing!

I like the red ones the most and agree with Dragon about the overlapping limbs. Your heads and hands need some work, but what I really suggest you look for is to show the gesture come through into your finished rendered pic. KChen shows that beautifully here (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1432) in his thread. One other thing I suggest is to vary your line quality. To "EMPHASIZE" a curve or bend by thickening the line in that specific part.

Btw, can you take a look at my life drawing portfolio and give me some suggestions crits, or comments?

Here's the link (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7737)

Sorry to semi-hijack the thread, but...in regards to foreshortening, I understand what it is, but am unsure of how to incorporate it technically into drawings..ive tryed searching on google and just keep finding definitions! Can anyone offer any help?

DragonGX & I.was.ink:
Yeah limbs and heads..... So much farther to go. I worry so much about getting the overall shape of the figure that I run out of time to really approach the hands, feet and sometimes the head in any real detail. Times up, next pose!. I may focus solely on them next time.

I.was.ink: Sure, I'll jump over to your post and tell you what I think of yours.

mR.anGel: Thanks for the Paul Cadmus inspiration.
