Hi,
I’m putting together a short story which I’m going to put online in the new year (Jan/Feb). It’s a Zombie style horror story with a twist or two.
I’m looking for an artist to help illustrate it, so I can put it online and see if it can with a bit publicity gain a following underground or otherwise. I’m placing this ad here as it’s unpaid. I’m going to cough up the cash to put it online, but that’s all I can afford. I’m hoping that the story will at some point get picked up and be published, thus you as artist and me as writer will go 50/50 on any offers made.
I do realise getting published is a very difficult task. I think it’s actually easier to climb Everest than to have a book, or graphic style novel published.
However as it's online it'll showcase your work, and be advertised (with luck) on many popular websites - wikipedia, imdb.com etc...
I’m from the UK by the way.
I’ll provide more details if you contact me – pdhan@pdhan.co.uk.
As a guide, I’ve got a number of chapters written already. Each one is around about 750 words in length. To put it online I’ll create a book style layout, text on one side, illustration on the other with a turn the page effect. I think around 5 plus illustrations per chapter will be required, but I’m hoping to get detailed drawings, dark, satanic, disturbing and A4 / letter size, black and white woudl work better maybe with a little Sin City style colour added to it.
If the site can attract attention and a following then I’m considering asking the audience what they think will happen next (posting one chapter per fortnight / month) and thus the story from a point I’ve completed will develop based on Internet requests.
Sketches therefore will be ad hoc and may have tight deadlines should the online project take off.
Let me know what you think, I’d love to find someone with unbelievable talent to bring my effort to life!
Regards,
Paul.
Here is a sample paragraph of the story...
>>>>>>>>>>
I shivered as if someone had walked over my grave. It felt like an ice cube sliding down my spine. In reality, I was the one walking over graves, roaming around my local cemetery, at night, in torrential weather. I should have stayed indoors, but I had a duty to perform, the routine of taking my dog Whiskey for a walk when I came home from work. With the cemetery being close to where I lived, it was convenient and to be honest, the only place I could take him. I’d done this a thousand times before. As far as I was concerned, it was no big deal to walk through here when it was dark. Why did I feel nervous then? The living dead weren’t about to rise and munch on my flesh.
'Calm down Neville, it’s not real, it’s just a story'.
