I am gearing up to attempt a work that will be about 6 to 8 feet long. The paper I have on hand are a few sheets of stonhenge which are roughly 22 x 30, so thusly in order to do this piece I will have to patch my paper together. My questions/problems are:

What is the best way to go about joining sheets of drawing paper in a more or less seamless fashion?

Will patching my paper together detract from the work overall? My goal was to have a lot of white space in this image, so I am worried that the lines of where the papers meet might detract from the image, or ruin the blankness of the space. My professor seems fine with it, but I still feel sketchy about it. (no pun intended) Perhaps I am just being too anal though. ^^;

Any thoughts on this would be helpful.

you can order paper in a roll so that you can cut it at your own length, it is expensive though if you use a fancy paper like stonehedge =0 My figure drawing class did oversized drawings, but we did them on some crafty brown paper that came in a giant roll. the roll was around $60, but you could make hundreds of drawings from it!

but if you still want to use different sheets of paper, you cant pretend that seem won't be there. maybe you can work with the seem to help enhance your drawing? how about sewing the sheets of paper together, even if its white string? or maybe somehow attaching them so that they transform into paper panels, like an alter piece, or a japanese wall/door that folds in on itself?

Oooh, I am really liking the idea of creating it in panels, excellent idea. I even like the idea of stiching the paper together with white thread. Thank you very much for your suggestions. :) You have made me excited to work on this project again!
