First of all *ASSPAT ASSPAT ASSPAT* i want to have your babies etc.

I have a few questions though. The Oil portrait is soo nice but are those scribbles across his face digital? they look really out of place and kind of rushed. Like if you dropped the pen on the tablet. Oh and the crowhobo, is that a photo in the bg?

LOVELY stuff.

November 27th, 2006, 06:35 AM
Wow, nice. The oil paintings are incredible. The lighting on the bird guy is stellar. Where the ground and his feet meet looks so real and the caution tape seals the deal. You have never ceased to impress.

Is the 1st one oils? Don't know if you planned it, but the reflection on the canvas from the camera compliments the reflection in the piece. Definately made me look twice.

more sentiments on par with what everyone else is saying, love your oils especially the buildings, and the buddah! When can we expect a full color glossy art book, full of your oil paintings like the one Shawn Barber had at Montreal?

LOL, I think you could learn alot from your avator Stalsby. Except for the little guy doesn't mix paint, he just kind of throws it on. :^^:

Anyway, did anyone else catch the "Not Sundays Bitch" in the meter? LOL, that made my day.

your brush strokes always impress when you let us see them, like in that portrait. I'm wondering though, how many of these are digital?

Justin.
November 27th, 2006, 09:58 PM
Wow, I can see you've been lookin' about. I can spy so many influences flying all around in there, Marko, and possibly a small amount of Shelly Wan in the colors?

This is (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=54862&stc=1&d=1164616774), in my opinion one of your best paintings. It reminds me of those Dobsky sunsets only in midday and with cheerleader-fucking coolness. I love that grate that you suggested, really sweet. Couldn't of taken what, 1 hour and 25 mins from life?

Keep truckin, mother fuckin' coro36!

yessssssssssss replies!!! i feel all fuzzy inside!

se7en_: thanks man. hope yer well. yes i am :)

K.I.D.: thanks man. hehe i have started saving it in a jar i keep under my easel. perhaps ill set up an ebay store as soon as ive accumulated enough.

Oblio: yesssssss!!! a not joke :) see ya soon frate!

Summer Pudding: man i tell ya, the idosyncracies always some at the end. its like that extra hour or so of touching up, and fixing my clumsy mistakes.
bummed to hear we'll not see you at sf. it was good chillin with u in montreal. hope everythings going well wif ya...

guterrez: thanks man. the buddha is spoken for already, hehe. but if you are interested in anyting else, i can quote ya a price :D

michel: thanks so much dood! you guys are really diggin that first alley one huh? im half ass planning on aseries of alley shots, there are so many awesome ones here in sf, i cant help myself haha..

draw: go paint! i had a parking meter i found smashed open on the street like 8 years ago. i have draggged it around forever, and i finally decided to paint it. thats all :)

robinchyo: thanks man! i had a lot of fun on him. i had been kicking that ideaaround for a while, drew him hella small in my sketchbook, scanned it and colored in ps. i just put it in a photo i had taken. i wanted to see if i could get him to sit in the scene. im fairly happy with the results. there are several things that bother me still, but the solutions sit beyond my simple monky brain understanding haha...

steak-tron: just remember to bring the tape of the babies crying....

Icon: thanks dudette :). yeah the conventions are the same no matter what you use. my cheap tricks show up no matter what im faking my way through...

Justin Oaksford: i steal from everyone around here. that one really isnt that impressive in person haha just so you all know :) naw i worked that bitch off a photo, and it took like 3-4 days to complete...i dont get the chance to paint on location much, i gotta resort to photography, and bang em out at night after work ;) thats how i TRUCK :D

I0N:thanks. i really try to be direct with my strokes. the alley, meters, like 90% of the profile one, and the buddha are oils. everything else is ps.

SprayNation: you might be one of the only people who's caught that hahaha. i owe you a crit!!! ill get at ya soonz i promise!

vctr: thanks man. id love to put a book together, but i dont think my stuff is "cool" enough to warrant a book haha. m\aybe one of these days, i dunno :)

joelhinxman: thanks dude. again with the alley shot haha. ill bring it to the workshop. yes i took apart the meter, but it was alrady smashed, so it was easy. :D

koppa: thanks brudda!

Bomba: miss ya too sweet cheeks! so close, yet so far. haha. ill see you soon though :D

Skeiff: thanks so much!

Chupacabra: thanks dude.

stalsby: thanks man. im teaching at the ca school. where u at? :D

blog: yay!!!! hope yer good dood!

Unbreakable: im teaching alla prima stuff, and greek love 101.

Mr.Blonde: thanks man. how you been? hope alls well with u. keep killin it:D

Molly: thanks HOMEGIRL :) hope yer doin good!

otis: yeah its oils. i can totally see what you mean hahaha. i think its cuz i painted in the direction of alot of the suurfaces on this one. like the only time ive ever had reflections compliment one of my shits...

Crush: thanks :)

asoir: tee hee :D

Serpian: thanks. yeah i know what u mean about the feet. thats my biggest beef with that piece. but i picked my battles on it. thats unfortunately a fatal flaw.

SBACHAN: thanks man. too bad we wont be seein ya. i guess your brain will be spared.

Brendan N: thanks so much man. the dvds are in the works, markos is finally done, and there will be more to follow! we tryin' i promise :)

Carnifex: DAMMIT, HOW GOD AM I GOING TO BE DENIED MY SWEET CARNIFEX!!!!!! i will shed tears for you. at least your brain wont be melted :)

foster: ill be the guy in he corner in assless leather chaps and the biker cap slow dancin for you. dude im so psyched to see ya again man. this is gonna be awesome!!!!

vigostar thanks vigo. yeah i have been really into the coins lately. they fun to paint i thinks! hope yer well dude!

Mr Man: hey dude! thanks for the kind words. the buddha took like 3-4 sittings. overall maybe 12-14 hours?

Interceptor: RUN!!! WE DROPPIN BOMBS IN HERE!!!! :D

bhanu: thaks dude. sorry i will miss out on te opportunity to melt your brain :?

shadoman: thanks man. funny you should mention his feet where they meet the ground, since that was a part that bugged me til the end, and serpian caught it. but im glad you think it looks good! :D

Crash: thanks man! to answer your questions...the profile i painted in oils, however i reworked a lot digitally as well. i did scribble on it, but it just felt righthaha. and yes, its a photo in the bg. but its my photo at least, and not a google ;)

Elwell: yes i will be doing a sumi brush technique with the long hairs that hang off my ballsack. i will dance the macarena and do a portrait at the same time. hope yer well dude! when we gonna see some new elwell shizz?
im feindin fo a fix!

Chuck,mate.: thanks brudda!!

Kian: thanks to u too!

Marko Djurdjevic: thanks man. you know it means tons coming from my hariy serbian love muffin. yes i do, and it smells similar to the love we make. distinctly animal in nature. im gonna be all over you like a cheap flamboyant suit come workshop time. ill melt more than your brain :P

j a k e: thanks hahahaa

twoheaded: thanks to you sir. just as you are mine :)

Main Loop: thanks mister loop. where ya been! hope yer doin good.

stoph: thanks man. dont cry, you brain wont be melted, and that can, on some level be viewed as a good thing....i think

sweetness, i really like that profile, and the parking meter. i've just recently started to spend more time on my oil paintings, and man it's a whole new challenge really getting in there trying to get all the details perfect while still keeping all the shapes and proportions correct.. anyway, keep it up.
i'd like to get out to insomania, but im trying to get some friends off there asses to go with me.. we'll see..

Coro that's probably the only toy I ever saw that's super cute and uber badass at the same time. Rules man. Your photorealism is shooting through the roof too - the camera painting is total tits, couldn't believe my eyes. Digging the paint texture on sitee too - makes the piece.

Thanks for the word on the DVDs - you guys are so awesome for doing that.

oh, I do fancy your oil talent. very impressive.
I love the first one, especially the little cloud in the top-middle.. its perfect.
I could propably be talking about it all day, but I have a question.
To make those small but still very sharp dots/lines of paint, How would you recommend one does that? always been at the back of my head since everything I happen to put down in oils get to soft.

You versatile bastard... love the chunky brush strokes on that profile portrait. Good to see work in so many different techniques. Here's a crit though, as I know you want one from me. I would pull back on the fantastic rendering, gorgeous lighting and just the overall creativity in each piece, because as it is I am not able to find the flaws that you need to hear to aid you in your development as an artist. Said our love would always be true
Something in my heart always knew
Id be lying here beside you

On my own
On my own
On my own

So many promises
Never should be spoken
Now I know what loving you cost
Now were up to talking divorce
And we werent even married

On my own
Once again
One more time
By myself

No one said it was easy
But it once was so easy
Well I believed in love
Now here I stand

I wonder why Im on my own
Why did it end this way (on my own)
This wasnt how it was supposed to be (on my own)
I wish that we could do it all again

So many times
I know I could have told you
Losin you, it cuts like a knife
You walked out and there went my life
I dont want to live without you

On my own
Once again
This wasnt how it was supposed to be (on my own)
I wish that we could do it all again (on my own)
I never dreamed Id spend one night alone
By myself

Ive got to find out what was mine again (on my own)
My heart is saying that its time again (on my own)
And I think that Im as sure as you

Carnifex: ccccccccaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnnniiii iiiiiiiiffffffffffffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeexxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxx.............so for the pigeon man i drew him really small in my sketchbook. then i scanned him, and colored him in photoshop. then i laid a blurred out photo id taken inthe background, and lit him accordingly. perhaps if i can find the psd i can post the progression....wll seeeeeeeeee

Mike Frank: thanks man. i try a lot of different approaches because i find it keeps the work fresh, and i can keep learning that way.

voraz: thanks dude. i do love doing those still lifes. i dont think theres a better way to learn how to paint honestly, since it just sits there. i wish i had time to do more ambitious ones :/

guterrez: thanks so much, thats such a nice thing to say :) i have painted a few of these, and my buddy rich (insane visions) bought be a little set of bhuddas when he was on vacation a while back, so if i paint any other ones ill let ya know :)

3ch1n0: oh man you saw haight street? thanks :)

Brendan N: thanks man. the toy is like a cross between a dog dick and a cockroach ;) thanks for the kind words dude!

stephen: hey man. yeah its a whole new ballgame painting small and detailed huh? fukkin crazy with the edges and subtlety you can achieve...HUSSAR that fucking bastard is so good at that...hope you get to make it up here. it would be awesome to finally meet you.

braden m: thanks so much!

Theo: coins are fun as fuck to paint i think. the simplification you can do and still make em read as coins is a real cool exercise. too bad mine are all semicircular though :) i need to work on that still.

whiteeeeeee: thanks haha

j a k e: awesome! haha represent!!!

Calle_ thanks! to answer your question, i paint on a very fine surface, and ise lots of small brushes. it gives a great level of control. also i use linseed oil as a medium, which makes the paint a little looser and easier to get sharp marks.

michaelh: thanks :)

Nerdlinger: you are too kind my friend.

thanks again you guys. all i can say is that i have learned so much from this place, your eyes and insights have helped me immeasurably. my humblest appreciation for that.-c36

Justin awesome update! The camera is perfect...I always love the little swirlies you put in your still lifes and stuff. And on the girl, i love how you have made it almost like theres a spotlight on her chest. Word.

yeah, yeah, yeah...
we all get it.
"my name is coro, and i'm sooo brilliant."

seriously, man.
i thought i'd take your update as an opportunity to say: "i love it!"
that sketchbook page is to die for.
is that really all on one sheet, or did you montage it in PS?

these all look great (and having a toy of your design is bad ass!),
but i'm totally captivated by the coins in the buddha painting.
they are sooooo simple.
really confident...really beautiful.

In that first piece is that pure white on the original canvas? That's an extra interesting design choice.

Yo if I need it in the morning or the middle of the night
I ain't 2 proud 2 beg (no)
If the lovin' is strong and he got it goin' on and
I ain't 2 proud 2 beg (no)
2 inches or a yard rock hard or if it's saggin'
I ain't 2 proud 2 beg (no)
So it ain't like I'm braggin' just join the paddywagon cause
I ain't 2 proud 2 beg, I ain't 2 proud 2 beg

For me to beg it is nothin' nothin' but a sixth sense
The other five is aidin' me in helpin' me to dispense
Cuz seein's believin' when seein is what I saw
If it's wrong let the left hand commence
To touch what such great thing lies ahead of G
Tempted enough I taste till it comes back to me
Movin' up to rock the boat and I won't see
So till you increase to the reason of your mindless peace
And what the hell there is no smell
But I can always tell it's left here here as well
And if the lovin the lovin the lovin was that strong
Then he gotta get at it all day and night long
Oooooh but as for you another minute ticked away
We're down to two
For those who don't know the three letters in TLC

Yo if I need it in the morning or the middle of the night
I ain't 2 proud 2 beg (no)
If the lovin' is strong and he got it goin' on and
I ain't 2 proud 2 beg (no)
2 inches or a yard rock hard or if it's saggin'
I ain't 2 proud 2 beg (no)
So it ain't like I'm braggin' just join the paddywagon cause
I ain't 2 proud 2 beg, I ain't 2 proud 2 beg

Realize the realism of reality treats
Us both the same
Cause satisfaction is the name of this game
So I choose to explain it's evident
Left Eye don't mean the rest of my body is irrelevant
In other words lets refresh your head
About pullin' down curtains and breakin' da waterbed
Yeah I like it when you (kiss)
Both sets of lips
Oooh on the TLC tip

I ain't 2 proud 2 beg
For what I call my own
Just you and me (uh)
Heyyyyyyyy

When I need 2 feel love
Why wait 4 so long
Cause I ain't 2 proud 2 beg
4 something that I call my own
And I want 2 be touched
And feeling so much because
Everybody needs some good lovin'

I ain't 2 proud 2 beg
Yo I ain't 2 proud 2 beg
I ain't 2 proud 2 beg
I ain't 2 proud 2 beg ya'll
No I ain't 2 proud 2 beg
I ain't 2 proud I ain't 2 proud 2 beg
I ain't 2 proud 2 beg ya'll
You think I'm too proud 2 beg
I ain't 2 proud I ain't 2 proud...

Damn, Coro. I've always had a love for your stuff, but since picking up oils myself, I'm seeing so much more in every one of these pieces.

How big is the first piece? I love the little reflections of blue on the ground-- they almost look scraped out with the butt end of a brush or something, but I imagine it would read as brush-strokes in real life.

I wish I could make Insomania. Soo many things I'd want to pick your brain on...
