I am not a cell shading type of guy. Not meaning I don't like it, I just don't know much about its techniques.

The bottom image looks the best IMO.

The drawing of the top image throws me off a bit because of the bridge of his nose. It is way to wide as it goes up into the browline. That drew my attention immediately.

Maybe play with some complimentary color schemes for the cell shading for the top pic. If you have the light tan background, maybe work with the next cell shade in a dark bluish.

Compliment and contrast the cell shade layers with cool vs. warm and your typical complimentary colors.

Here is a link that has some tips on it if you were looking for more "official" information.

Try to get the shapes more accurate to reality and put in more detail when it is needed, such as buttons or his hair or clothing...I'd even go so far as to draw the stitches on the seams of his clothes..

I personally love your inconsistancies in anatomy. I find it very refreshing in a world of anatomy book regularities. Work on your feet a bit more, and PLEASE don't tighten it up or make it more accurate. Just work that style, and it will improve in itself.
Great work!

maximillion: thanx! yeah, m kinda working on the anatomy, I kept the lines as simple as possible, the less lines the better. the inking i did on the sketchpad was useless coz i used my digital camera to capture the pic, scanner is broken

some people use PS to ink right?
