Hi,

I haven't posted for a while. Here's an image I've been doing over the past few evenings after work. It started as a doodle in Photoshop and developed from there. Hope you like it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Tim

i like it, nice mood in the pic.I would have mae the street even more crowded, and i'd make the important characters popo out with some more contrast, but it looks good anyway...why not taking this to the next stage and make it more precise and detailed?

I Agree nice color scheme and gives nice unexplored world feeling. I'd definately like to see some more details. It seems to be quite high a piece without anything interesting happening above the middle. Maybe you could think of something. Just my two cents ;) Excellent.

TheGnoll is correct about you setting a nice mood.

At first glance, I'd say I like the skewed fish-eye lense effect you're going for, but the eye-level stuff isn't matching up to the upper levels. Also, your vanishing point looks a bit higher than it should be. It just seems a bit too high to give the impression that you (the audience) are in and among the crowd on the street, which is the thing that greatly helps the convincingness of the piece.

Also, on the eye-level, if you wish to make it look as if there are more and more people there, you can easily give that impression by overlapping more people, starting in the extreme foreground.

All in all, a very nice piece of work.

Very nice. I like the shop (?) to the right - it looks like an ominous face staring out with feelers at the top of it, the 2 lights like eyes and the entrance 'mouth'....
My eyes are drawn to the foreground figure and child.
I'm wondering if the adult might be a little shorter - I'm just following the sense of being overwhelmed in the city and wonder if the city should be over-powering the adult and child? Just a thought...also maybe a little more light refelecting off them?

Anyway, I like it a lot.

Thanks for all the feedback! I've tried to make some revisions based on your comments. I think the top and the bottom of the image tie together now.
Cheers

I really like this piece. It somehow reminds me of the city from BladeRunner movie. Looks like the crowded street where Deckard had his meal...And I like that movie a lot :) Great mood in this pic:)

It does feel like they are on different planes. It gives the piece a feeling that it might be taking place in the inside of those of those tubular ring space colony things and the distortion of the background/distant structures is from the curviture of the environment. At least on the left side... it seems to be curving to the right.
