Insomania needs volunteers!

any of you guys got a bit of spare time and want to lend a hand?

DonkeySlayer is our new Conceptart MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/conceptartforums) puppetmaster, but he needs an army to help him take over the internet. NetNinjas get the distinguished honor of being our virtual street teams, going online and hitting forums and blogs with info about conceptart.org and the INSOMANIA workshop.

its maybe an afternoon of work, maybe two, and can be done on your schedule, but it needs to be done QUICK!! We need to get those sign ups if we're gonna be able to do Florence next year. Remember, its the workshops, more than anything, that pay for this hear forum ya'll spend so much time on...all the hosting fees, expansion tech, galleries...etc...all are funded by the workshops. We need your support. Plain and simple.

PM me or post if you wanna help, or know someone who does.

Below you'll find postcards and banners you can post on your profiles and anywhere else you think to spread the word. As around if anybody's heard of Insomania and if theyre going... be discreet and undercover, or straight up, however you want, but lets get the word out there!

Here's a few ideas how you can help:

- post the Insomania flyer on your My Space, Tribe or Friendster (etc) profile, and/or make the pic your avatar

- post the Insomania poster in a blog post about the event, sending people to the website at www.conceptart.org/insomania

- post a message on an art blog, local art zine, craigslist, other art forums, local event blogs, mailing lists, etc....

- print out the poster or some stickers and put them somewhere where you think artists will see them.

- tell your classmates at school / co-workers at work about the workshop - hang a poster somewhere...

- write/ call in to local news mags/papers/stations about the workshop

- drop in on other art communities and ask if anybody there has signed up.

any more ideas? lets hear em!

ConceptArt cant do it without you!

thanks!!

nifty, any chance of some 300 dpi action for printable posters?

oh and my co-op adviser pimped it to a bunch of industrial design kids, although the only interested ones were the ones already going :/

i let my director at school know about it so it should be up there soon. try hitting up some art stores and put postings there. i use to work over at blicks and people would ask daily for events like this.

puh, my friends would much rather pay to go to a design conference than Insomania... bunch of weiners :^^:

I'll see what I can do on the elderscrolls forums, though it's really tricky to advertise there. Even though most of the artists are nubs like me, it's a huge community. :teeth:

Since it's flood marketing, have you thought of submiting a simple trailer to youTube or the like? Or maybe a banner at gamasutra, penny-arcade or gametrailers.com? Where else on the net do concept design-heads like to go? :teeth:

DA's adcast can get you lot of hits, but I'm a bit confused about their policy:

The following cannot be advertised using the discount artist advertising rates:
* Anything having to do with a corporation or commercial content of any kind.
* Anything that is not specifically promoting art, or art related subject matter.

This service is meant for individuals and art groups only.

The workshop is not corporation or commercial content, right?

I believe so- Conceptart.org is a Non-profit organization.

Hey you have my full support here in Vegas, I'll put it on my myspace, ill even print posters and flyers and hang 'em up in my art store (Blick)... I can also have my friends and minions flyer the 3 major art campuses here in town (Art Institute, UNLV, and CCSN)...

I will also drop the word to the SF Blick and see if they can hook it up with the posters too...

Do you need addresses to send materials to Layil (if you are that is!) ? PM and me and I'll be glad to help you out! :)

(edit) I may also be able to hook up hanging posters in Blicks in Berkeley, LA, and San Diego as well!

I should be doing SP's right now but I can spare a few minutes to spam my art guild site, drop something on myspace groups, etc.

It's coming down to the wire as far as my personal funds go for the workshop but hopefully you'll have another there.
