Hello,

Well, I really only post here when I show a marked improvment, so, here it is. Anyways, I'd like some C & C, and, I'd like to know if I have a future in the game industry, being 14 right now. Basically, so I look like I have a future in art, or should I consider another career. Thanks, and here are the pics. I'm also told that I should forgo this style, as well. Should I?

wow, hey...you've definitly got sumthin'. nice round shapes and lined paper!! thats great. hard to believe your 14 without the lines. hee ... hm advice...draw from life and stop looking at comics etc. for reference. it's hard but it helps. uhm. proportion is key...learn the head lengths of the major body masses and stuff and uh...start with simple shapes....okay i'm done spouting off now.

Hey .cfb!

Let me start off by saying that, even though I'm not very far along in art myself, I do believe that it's not something you have or you don't. This isn't like 'The One' from the Matrix. You can work to achieve your dreams and goals. If you WANT to have a future in the game industry, by all means you certainly can. It is just a question of how much you want it, and how hard you work.

There are plenty of talented individuals, and they may 'get' art faster than some of those who aren't (myself). You'll just have to work harder, if you don't fall into that category. Just don't get discouraged :)

Your sketches here look a lot better than mine when I started (and a lot better than mine now). I'm almost 20, and I'm not giving up on the dream, neither should you.

Pecham and Sic: Thanks a lot!

Sic: I don't really use much of anything for referance. I've got a Burne Hogarth book lying around somewhere, but I rarely crack it open. Most of my "knowledge" of anatomy comes from just: "draw, fail, retry, draw, fail, retry."

that is a good way to start, but draw try fail, draw again try fail........is what happens with out life drawing practice. once you get alot of that going you just instictively know how things "look" becasue you have drawn almost everything!!!

dig?

anyway, looks good man, style is so subjective that if somebody tells you that your style isn't going to work they have a limited view of what art even concept art is. so keep art it, anyway your style will cahnge dramaticly over the years, and you will look back and go..."MAN! i used to draw like THAT?!"

good luck and keep it up
