This is part of a series I am doing on Shamans. Some C+C very much appreciated. Im not entirely done with it, but would like some insight before I continue to screw it up(if its not already screwed). now...kick it

quick rearranging re proportions, hope it help and doesn't seem *all* wrong - left arm seemed to long, shoulders too far apart, head to high, waist to high, right knee area too frail.

also, the lighting on the chest area seems unfocused. aaand the left bicep is weirdly constructed.
keep at it!:)

No offense squid, but I think the only thing you hit right was the width of the shoulders. In your version he has no neck :O plus I think his arm length was ok. His pecs and rib cage in both look quite high though, you sure you did a basic skele beforehand JLA?
I think the anatomy is ok for the most part, but the main problem is the stifness of his arms, it's reaaly hampering things. Try some studies and really let your hand loose, be incorrect if you have to, just try to get some nice, curvy description lines on the go to help out :)

i really like your rendering of the headpiece and treatment of the metal parts of his costume. i think the design itself could use more details and i have an aversion towards his thundercats beltbuckle.
i suggest looking at jewelry and armor designs or maybe some plants for ideas. the tattoos could be more intricate or at least reflective of his culture.
for the most part well painted.
keep on!

Thanks guys! preciate it
I definitely see the shoulders width now, as well as the knee portion.
Rhineville- yeah I did a skeleton for it, just not a very good one I guess, this is one of my first drawings without reference, so its a little wack. Ill post it again after fix it, hopefully you all will come back and comment again :)
cosmic -thanks! and no thundercats-wanna-be belt..its actually taken from a Mexican peso coin, which portrays the powerful Aztec jaguar god, I will emphasize more on that. The body paint used to be applied right before a ritual with bare hands, so it cant be too intricate, I had some cool tribal designs on him but decided to change it.
Squid- thanks for taking the time to do a paintover, everything helps!
thanks again!!
