Books that help for drawing Humans

Are their any books that any one suggests that will help will the development of the human body? Thanks

Artistic anatomy: by richer hale has plates that you can copy sight size, and if you are thinking of copying them using comparative heads or sight size, then i suggest using 2d shapes to work on first.

Dynamic anatomy by Hogarth, this book exggerates anatomy but its recommended a lot here from what ive read.

those are the 2 i have so those are the only ones i can recommend


anatomy for the artist is a much newer book. My classmates all recomed it to me.

Andrew Loomis- Figure Drawing for all it's Worth, Drawing the Head and Hands.

All of the Loomis books are worth reading really.

Don't bother looking for them in the book shop as they're out of print, there are pdf versions circulating on the internet and p2p networks though.

Try going to the torrent sites like Mininova, or TOrrentspy. There's one BIG file there full of the drawing books these guys just mentioned.

Bridgman's Complete Guide to Drawing From Life is the best IMO. Loomis is confusing as hell.

Bridgman's is also in the bittorent bundle patdzon mentioned.
