I have been from one side of the web to the other and have failed to find any pictures of these characters.

They are characters from the 70s and 80s comic magazines "Epic" and I believe they were also in "Heavy Metal". If I remember correctly, Cholly was a big fat guy and Flytrap rode on his shoulders and they were always killing each other. I know, I know, it sounds dumb but it was a lot funnier than my synopsis.

Anyway, does anyone remember these characters and if so, does anyone have a picture or pictures of these characters? My brother was a huge fan of these characters and I wanted to draw them for his birthday (that is why I can't ask him for the pics!).

I've tried Google, Webcrawler, Yahoo, Heavy Metal message boards, everything! I know someone in the world has a picture that they can post or send to me.

Please ANYBODY!!!

No luck on the HM boards? Kevin Eastman is usually very helpful there, as is lostboy. Lostboy used to have a HM fansite with every issue's contents inside, but I keep getting a 404.

All I can dig up: "The Adventures of Cholly and Flytrap" with art by Art Suydam and story by Bob Burden. I would look up "Art Suydam" (in parenthesis) on Google or Google image search.

OMG! Thanks everyone!! BTW, great call on Kevin Eastman and Lostboy. Both of them were a tremendous help!

Kevin Eastman has to be one of the most down to earth, patient and just plain cool people out there in the arena of publishing. He owns Heavy Metal, is married to Julie Strain, chums around with Simon Bisley, drinks like a fish (as shown in his many exploits on the HM site), and answers as many questions and tries to please everyone at the same time. I am glad you received help!

I agree! I was very surprised to recieve a response from Kevin at all. I didn't even ask him for help (I had asked this other helpful person "LostBoy"), but Kevin still responded.

Very cool guy!
