I was wondering how much MBs Painter 8 takes up on the HD. They don't say it in the min. sys. req. on the site. :(

This information is a little misleading though. The Painter application folder is really an expanding entity in terms of file size, which needs to be managed.
As you begin using the application, a pre-built brush file is created in the brushes folder to store data on various non default setting brushes (which become non-default when you change the brush size and other settings). This file can grow to 20 or so Mb in a single painting session depending on the variants used. The good news is that you can periodically delete this file. Painter creates a new one on re-launch.
Another item which expands is the scripts data file. To keep this file to a reasonable size, in Painter 8> Preferences> General, set the auto-save scripts for 1 day.
To a lesser degree (in terms of file size), '_c' cached variant files are automatically created as different brush variants are used and their settings changed. These files can be periodically deleted by selecting the 'restore all default variants' from the brush selector bar drop down menu, or on an individual basis by selecting 'restore default variant' from the same menu.
Obviously other custom Painter resources you will collect/create along the way are also going to take up significant HD space (including all the extra resources on the Painter CD2), so my advice is don't underestimate.
