Heya guys,

Names Steve. ive been messin about sketching for the past few years but ive never had the oppourtunity to go into studying it. most of my work is just pen and paper but im starting to get into the digital side of it. my father runs his own digital design business so i guess its kinda in the blood? funny thing though is that sometimes ill try to sketch and nothing comes out, however sometimes i just pick up a pen and come out with awesome stuff. ive lost most of my sketches but managed to find a few crinkled ones. please feel free to crit as id love the feedback.

Hey Steve

Nice work so far, looking at your work i can tell u are good at costume design and very imaginative. keep this up.

Ive only just joined CA but too busy to upload my drawings...also i dont have a scanner. :'(

Keep the updates going...looking forward to your progression...

I love the design on the flaming, legless girl. But the hood is kinda wierd looking to me.

Steve
I appreciate that you can handle different styles and have a lot of imagination! Some comments are:
1st pic of this page: it seems the hands look a bit small and flat, not so 3d
2nd pic of this page: arms and body may be a bit short for an adult
closeup pic with sunglass: one glass is bigger than the other

More practice and more time in doing one drawing is suggested.

My skills and English are not so good, hope the comments are a bit helpful!:teeth:

sorry for not posting recent pics but i havent had much time. im currently swamped with work and my gf's birthday was yesterday (so now im broke too!). anyways i managed to find time to add to the dsg today. i still have some more sketches to post but that will come later as i need to scan the buggers.

with this pic i was really just working on perspective, then it turned to lighting, then colours and finaly i lost control. started out as practice, ended up in the dgs "BLUE ENVIRONMENT" topic. dont ask me what it is as its rather confusing to myself aswell. kind of a mirror labrynth meets ice age.

WaiPang: thanks for dropping in. the hoof on the girl never sat well with me either. initialy the head was going to be bigger but looked out of proportion, so i made it smaller but already has the paterns for the hood drawn and couldent be bothered with it. thought i could get away with it :)

Evxyza92: working on the hands! i cant do eyes, hands, lips or noses very well. (also feet) but im forcing myself to to more of them so i can get it more accurately.

_]: ive tested alot of variouse sketching styles from comic, adventure, animie, mecha, life and cartoon. trying to find what i like and im focusing on basics at the moment. as for the crits, yeah i cant do hands properly yet so thats why they r messed. 2nd pic is suppose to be some spectral dude so proportion was trying to fit it all on the page. and about the sunnies... that was the first face i drew years ago out of a sketch book. at the time i was extatic about it but now i see it and go :P. not a very good sketch but id like people to see where i came from and where im going. thnx also for dropping by.

Wakazou: thnx for the book ref. ill see if i can find some in the city bookstores. like your work aswell! keep it up

Like someone already mentioned, study some anatomy from books, maybe do some life drawing if possable. This will improve your work ten fold. Just keep at it and dont give up through the frustrating times, as there will be many.Work on improving all the time, sketch daily and you'll see an improvement. By the way the Loomis books as suggested by wakazou are extremely good. So check them out, i dont know the site link so ask around here.

I suggest that you take time to draw the hands and feet for your figures, it'll help round out your understanding of the figure. I feel that your anatomy studies will help you a great deal.

Hey, nice to meet you. I'm kinda new here. Also studying anatomy at the moment. I was gonna say maybe you should look more at anatomical studies since you're drawing figures, but instead, everyone's already saying that lol.

There IS something I can do to help you though if you still need it, and if so I'm glad to help out.

TADA!
