Hiya,
Seeing as how jungles are the sweetest things on earth I whipped up a waterfally scene in photoshop. Comments and Critiques are welcomed!http://stu.aii.edu/~jag422/jungle6.jpg

This is pretty neat! I like foliage, but not drawing it! I really like your watercolor feel, and I think it's looking pretty cool.

My only critique is there is too much white. I personally like to avoid using white, because it's not really seen a whole lot in nature. Most things are certain types of white, or offwhite if you will. My advice is try using a different color for the lighting, such as a warm yellow or something. If you are using watercolor, wash the whole thing with the color. If you feel brave. :D

But being that this is digital, your options are much better. Change the lighting to all sorts of different colors, see which one brings out the green and blues more. I would say a nice orange would look cool, but it would change the mood I think.

Also, you need more contrast in your picture. Your highlights look fine, but your shadows/shaded areas, look too washed out, or too similar. Make another layer in photoshop and add darker tones (not black, just dark enough to still see the color) and try adding more shadows. That is unless you want the washed out look of watercolors, which I like. :D

Good stuff, keep it up.

seems a little bright for the jungle, when you have light come through the canopy its punctuated by the darker juungle around it, also the light punching throw almost has a glow around it. i think the thing that seems odd to me, is you drew a good looking forest, but not really a jungle. i think as a forest it looks perfect. but for a jungle i think it maybe needs more roots of trees going underground then up, more vines hanging down, less grass, a bit more moss near the rocks by the water, and possibly some jungle leaves (the bigger palm'ish ones or something jungly) as they should be everywhere but i only detect some in the background. also id draw a lot of crap on the ground, many leaves etc. the jungle has a roof virtually of leaves, branches and fruit and these things litter the floor like crazy. lastly i like your style, seems to have a tint of anime, but its very light and its hard to pick up depths unless really practiced.

so i think you actually drew a most excellent forest, or maybe the outer edge of a jungle, but to really get the jungle effect id just find some photos on the internet, kinda look at them and add in some of the leaves and details you see.

i think it works as a typical average jungle but it really doesnt capture the congo or amazon al rain forest.

i like it. feels like a small clearing. the detail in the grass and trees is tight! my only complaint it the water is REALLY REALLY blue. you should tone it down a bit.

i would have to say the second is better then the first.....nice stuff

it's nice looking, despite of it's radioactive colouring ;)
usually, the water surfaces reflects it's surroundings.
it's not as blue as most people would think it is..

Water is the color of the surroundings. SHould not be 'blue'. It also shows the river-bed and rocks through it, especially with the waterfall. The pool after the fall would be very deep so that would be very dark. With reflections of jungle (dominantly greens)
