I am new here, so please forgive my first post/thread being a photo shoot. All I have to say, really, is - the photography is not supposed to be first class. I am not a photographer. I simply hope that you enjoy what I am showing, and I hope that it makes you think.

the concept is good, but they're too underexposed and the quality can be alot better
try and retouch them with some photoshop levels and contrast and maybe remove some of the slight noise in them:)
also, try different angles, as here you have the type of angle every person is firstly inclined to use...be more creative and dont be afraid to experiment;)
and variate the background more..try one in which we cant guess what it would be;)
cheers

As I said - I'm not a photographer. o_O

Although it is supposed to be dark and grainy - and the background setting isn't supposed to have variation or interest because it's not the subject. It's supposed to be dull, and plain, and unexciting.

They're dolls.

On the floor.

Unfortunately I'm more of a doll collector than an artist - they're more of the subject at hand than the photos themselves. ^^;

I was hoping more for comments on the concept.

If the concept is dolls on the floor then you'll have trouble getting an interesting idea out of it. Especially if you're aiming to make the photos dull, plain and unexciting. No-one wants to look at a boring photo, and currently that's what they are. Cigaro has told you what to do to make them better, if you're not interested in taking better photos then this may not be the forum for you.

Would you like me to explain the entire concept in childish detail?

For it seems that you clearly cannot understand it.

And this is supposed to be a forum of artists? =/

The dolls are the art, not the photos. Unfortunately, there is no other part of the forum to place this.

Yes, I would like you to explain the concept. Dolls on a floor is what they are, not the concept. The concept could potentialy be the deterioration of worldly posessions as we pass through life, but you'd need more variation for that (e.g old teddy bears, faded teapots etc). Apart from this I can't see anything.

What you currently have is a set of snapshots of broken dolls. They are from uninteresting angles, they are badly taken and they are repetitive. They are not art, they are just stuff.

I'm very sorry if this comes across as harsh, but I am failing to see your 'artistic vision' or 'direction'. We haved tried to help you create better photos, and you have said that we aren't artists. This is an insult to us, and to then expect feedback is just silly.
