i was just curious to see if anybody else here writes stories.
i write occasionally, and i find it to be extremely satisfying and its fun to create worlds with words as well as paint

for those interested
"the heros journey" which is talked about in Joseph Campbells book "the hero with a thousand faces" is archetypes found in every cultures myhtologies, stories, etc

Nope,
I don't write much, most of my typing take place on CA. but I do read a lot.

For me it is much esier to visualize a story, than telling one, but maybee now that CA is being redesigned, there is also room for a "short stories" thread uh?

I used to write short stories quite a bit, don't know why I've stopped. I should try and do something about that.
oh and btw. that's a very nice link :)

Short stories eh? why not "Illustrated Short Stories" :D

Yeah, I also like to write stories w/ artificial epic background and mixed mythologies.

I'm currently working on a whole RPG concept, which needs a story of course.
It's hard not to write the story too obvious, that the player knows what it's about in the first minute (bad english?).

Just look at the Final Fantasy games. Their stories have fantastic turns and climaxes. I'm trying to create a similar tension.

I am in the boat with cucaracha. I write, paint, and am creating an rpg world. Back in the Stone Age I was the only one in Creative Writing class the teacher ever asked to get in front of the class and read aloud their work. And she asked me to do so often.

When I find a cartographer, I will move forward on the rpg. Until then, I am thinking of POD-ing a few books.

Another book I found handy for writing is Ray Bradbury's 'Zen and the Art of Writing'.

Anyone know about this rpg, by the way?

The art by Paul Bonner alone is extremely awesome.

I've been writing some of the stories that I tell my daughter at night when she goes to sleep. I thought that mabe one day I'll illustrate them and maybe shop them around. I also have two screenplays that I started, I just don't have time to finish right now. I want to finish the first screenplay and submit it for next year's "Project Greenlight".
