Hey guys, I'm a fairly new photographer, and I got referred to this forum by a friend, anyway, I thought I'd just post some of my work. I shoot with a Nikon D50 and a Sigma 70-300mm f.4.5-5.6 lens.

Constructive criticism is most welcome

Here are my favorites so far:

I like the first one, it has the most attitude by far.

hey there and welcome! the first one is really, really nice. like it a lot. very crisp - took me a while to see the leaf, though. do you still have a color version of it? because i would really like to see that one (although i think your choice of going for b/w is great).

second unfortunately is too blurry - although it's a great find. maybe you could go back there and shoot it again? would be great. i'm not a huge fan of coloring only parts of the photo, but i guess that's personal taste...

the third is slightly blurry, too. maybe you could play with your ISO settings from time to time to adjust to the light conditions? composition wise i like the "wave" that's going through the branch, but the tree (?) on the left is really distracting, so i would get rid of it. nice colors, though!

i really like that you look for the little things, i tend to do that myself. are you shooting in RAW? because that opens another whole dimension, i think. would love to see more! cheers,

stine

Hey mate,

I got myself the sigma a few days ago, it's good fun, eh. Mine has been nicknamed the sniperscope, stalkerscope and hottiespotter by various people.

Anyway, onto the photos. Number one is very cool, having the leaf there is a great effect. This is a really good piece.
Number two I have to agree with stine (for the most), there isn't enough of a contrast between the bw and colour for this to work, and it also looks very slightly out of focus, although that may just be tired eyes.
Number three has a nice focus point, but isn't particularly interesting to me. Personal preference I guess.

Keep shooting, and cya round

To agree with Klips Sigma lenses are quite fun.

It took me a while to get the one shot right for number one right oh and Stine here is your color version of number one:
