Hey guys!

I finally decided to make one single thread with the best of my photos since I first got into photography (about 2 months ago, I believe).

The first ones are shot with my former camera, Samsung s800, a simple compact camera:

These two were among my very first photos.

but soon I found out that in order to really get acceptable image-quality I would need a SLR. So the choice was the Canon 350D, which I had heard so much about. Now I have been messing around with that for a while getting to learn it, and I thought now was the time to show you some of the photos I've shot so far:

(all of the following photos are new, and shot with my 350D)

I know some of the subjects aren't very interesting or original, but I haven't much outside of my home-town lately. And my hometown is not worth taking pictures of - it's far too common :P

Crits and comments (especially on my newest photos) are more than welcome :)

These are amazing mate, you've got a really nice collection here.

Best stuff:
#9 is great, excellent dof, colour and subject
#12 This is a very pretty young girl, and her pose is perfect. REally well done.
#19 is awesome

One crit in general, everything is static, try some moving subjects (just kidding)

This means that #22 has to be excellent as well to keep the pattern going :P Anyway, keep posting, and I look forward to more.

There are some here I like a lot especially 13, 16, 22. Your portraits really show the character of the people in them. You must really have some talent if youve only been into photography for 2 months! Keep it up and I wouldnt mind seeing more work from you.

PS. Are you from Scandinavia? The places and people look very scandinavian. DS.

Hehe, yes thats right, I'm scandinavian. I'm not from Sweden though (but in fact 5 of the above photos are shot in sweden :)) - I live in Denmark.

Thank you for your comments, I'm glad you like them!

@Morbid
2 months and a week to be correct ;)

I'll post some more, as soon as I get to shoot anything new!

Just a little update:

24)

For some reason, I found that my images came out extremely noisy and grainy, shooting at ISO 1600 in RAW compared to ISO 1600 in JPEG... I had a really hard time making this not seem all that grainy even though it's still noticeable. Can anyone tell why this is so? :/

I know the following photos are not very artistic, but I wanted to share them with you anyway. Can anyone guess what happened? ;)

#28 is the Bomb! :D the first one has great soothing colours. A speaker is it?

Morbid

LOL! Did you actually break the window? :P
Hehe, funny thing to do though. I used to do that with coke bottle and a garden hose when I was younger.
28 is just priceless!

About the noise, RAW files go through no processing in the camera and leaves all that to you, while JPGs are noise reduced, sharpened etc, etc.

#T.Luu
Yes, that's a speaker :)

#Morbid
yeah, it's great fun to do! And yes, we accidentally broke the window, which was the parent's of his :|

Okay, that clears things up a bit. But is there any option of how to make the exact same processing with a RAW as though it was a JPEG? Because it bothers me alot, that they come out that noisy, and apparently I am not good at fixing it! :(

I dont know if there is a way to do the exact same thing as in camera, but there is many noise reduction programs you can try. Best thing is to avoid ISO1600 as much as you can. Its not fun to discover that you left it on by mistake and a whole day's (or more!) work is ruined!

Ok, I will try and remember that :)

Btw, I have a few questions regarding to the boards:
How do I make a signature?
How do I get an avatar?
How do I change the thread's title, so that I can for example write it is updated?

:/
