these are very impressive indeed. superb detail, great colors. i love the first one especially.
the only thing that struck me as odd was that the second one doesnt quite seem like what a templar would have looked like, but thats no big deal, still a great painting.
hope to see more of your work.

At first, I was looking and thinking "good art....good detail and texture.....a little too posed & stiff though.....he should make his subjects doing something......like place them in a background....or something". Then, he presents pictures where his subjects are doing something and there are backgrounds. I think, "now thats more like it".

Then, the sexy asian girl comes up and I totally lose my artistic line of thinking. Funny how the guy found the photo of her. The painted version is much sexier.

many of these have serious problems with faces and hands.

this one has perspective problems (or at least the figure in the backround seems to be placed wrong.) I also think it has major valueproblems.

This one has compositional problems and the hands look really wrong.

I like the first two designs and they have a really nice rendering. Just spend some more time with the basics again...

On the last one, even if it is from a photo, the eyes are driving me nuts, try moving them a bit, re adjusting them, they're off. Flip the image so maybe you'll be able to see it.

errm... I am not too sure about this group of artworks.
They don't come together as a whole too well, the quality also shift too much from one to another... and for the two bottom picture, the signature is totally not working, it's way too rough. It does not look like someone thoughtful enough to make the signature go with the picture they so carefully crafted....

And I am recognizing some designs that look like its copied and pasted from various different games, such as Guild war and Lineage II....

So, I doubt the originality of your works.
If you are doing copies, please credit the original design and sources. We mind that here... I know China is still in the process of learning that.

this one here is using...i am not sure... perhaps from crying freeman. But The central figure I have seen many times before. Dammit I will have to find that one as well. I am pretty sure these are copied in one way or another.

referenced or not, these are hardly paintovers. Reference is used constantly if you strive for reality. How did the classics do it?? Think about it. With no money for personal models then the free internet reference is great to use. Such iconic poses are not as common as people think. You only have to see how quickly "references@ are found by others. This hardly detracts from the genuine ability shown here.
Good work dude. China is still setting the board for concept art and sheer hard work imo

I totally understand what you are pointing out here. My problem is not with using internet references...as we all do it. It is moreso the problem of using copyrighted imagery and then splashing it into a "final" piece of your own. And two of these peices are definately from someone elses photographed work...even if it is porn in one.

well, what mayshing did was pointing out were images where whole design elements were cloned in (the dragon head on the templar's shoulder, the lionhead greaves and the face on the samurai's torso).

I, too, am skeptical about the samurai with the yakuza tattoos-- the head and torso are fantastic but the feet are very poor. I'm pretty certain it's a paintover and the feet were cut off in the photo. unless these images were done over several years, I'll bet that there are other thefts that we haven't idnetified yet as the skill level is very inconsistent.

yes, everyone uses ref to some degree and paintovers are cool, btw, but you have to name them as such. Stealing designs, though .... most folks here have very strong visual memories, if you found it online someone will recognize it.

zoemoulv: hopefully this is lesson learned and you'll come back next time with a heap of original work.
