great design on the animal there, and i like them clouds.. but there's so much space.. i think the image'd work better if you threw in at least something else in here.. like dead branches.. and maybe change the guy's facial expression.. he looks mopy. :)

I think it's great how it is. He looks mopy because he's out in BFE! Some recommendations, take em or leave em:
-add a bit more detail to his legs and feet.
-make the rope look like it's actually around his beak by making it go beyond the contour of his face.
-on the left, the ground looks like you've painted over an image because of the jpg artifacts and the detail that doesn't exist elsewhere. I like the painterly feel of the rest of it, so maybe you could cover up the too-realistic areas in the ground on the left.
-make your signature smaller. It's grabbing our attention too much. We should be able to tell who did it, but not so much that it changes the weight and compositional movement of the piece.
-try adding some darker blues/purples under the monster to give him more contrast. The overall piece doesn't seem too contrasted, so don't go overboard, but it might give the whole thing a bit more three dimensionality. The same goes for the shadow on the ground. Using cool colors in the shadows could really push this piece to the next level
Nice work! Keep it up.

nice! davinciwannab is spot on with his crits though. perhaps also add some faint mountainranges in the backdrop to give the scene some more depth?
