1st rule of web design....never design a page for 1024x768. design it for 800x600 MAX so that you can see all of the content. Also, if you ARE going to design it at such a size, make sure you have scroll bars enabled, if i had a 800x600 laptop(example) i would have NO idea how to see the rest of your page (also in smaller windows, the art preview to the right has issues with it being seen at sizes smaller that full screen 1024x768. ;) not trying to be mean, just trying to help.

I disagree that you should never design for higher than 800x600, it's too restrictive and not too many people who are computer savvy and who look at portfolio (i.e. art directors, agencies, etc...) are restricted to such a small space (well, they shouldn't anyway).

In my book, that rule's obsolete now. But that's just me.

I agree with the scrollbar option however. Indispensable.
