I'm not quite sure what it is. I found it on an old train car. I can only guess that it is the effect of years of graffiti and ware.
i see Quagmire only wearing shorts and shoes!
Ha. I see that too, but I also see an elephant just below that.

I thought that the first photo was of a broken stained glass window. Pop would be the sound it made. Oh, well. Yeah i see the elephant, and I see Quagmire only wearing shorts and shoes, but I also see a rain stained skyscraper.
I always love the richness in a KendraJ.K. photo. Tasty!
Maybe I'll come up with something this round.

Hmm if the topic was "death" and I post an human being (which will inevitably die someday) it wouldn't fit at all for me. Or if the "topic" was broken and I post a new car it wouldn't fit either...
You know what I mean?

haha fair enough, i do see what you mean, but when i think of balloons i think pop... which often happens quicker to balloons than death does to humans or old car-ness does to new cars... so yeah :P

To many a balloon means 'pop'; it's a whimsical little picture. You see a balloon and one of the first things to come into your head is that it will pop.
You don't see a human and think, 'He's going to die.' immediately, but with a balloon, many do... or at least almost immediately.

slightly different interpretations of pop, and using two at once (does that mean I can double count any votes?).
http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g80/alphatoros/poppoppop.jpg
Also, if this stretches the 'one picture' rule please tell me, however the images together are designed to be viewed as one picture and have no meaning without each other then I think it is valid.
Finally, crits are appreciated ^_^

"pop" is not the first thing I do associate with ballons. For me it is too far-fetched... But I guess that is a subjective quesiton.

Klips, I personally see it as more than one photo; even though it is in the same post/delivery.
The middle one would work pretty much fine on its own, maybe retake it trying to make the colour difference greater between the reddish skin and green wall (currently it all looks slightly orange... you're not using an energy efficient lightbulb are you? Naaaaughty). So if you can get more difference in the red and the green and just use the middle photo I'd be all 'woo, yay!', but currently, not really 'woo, yay!'. Maybe just a 'wee' or something...
[And yes, Norwin, subjective, subjective to the number of rifles Kendra has pointed at me... all subjective. All subjective to whether you might be next. Please, Norwin, save yourself.]

I always interpreted that rule as, "one entry per contestant". I think it needs to be clarfied.

That's how I've always seen it, but I think it ought to be that one photo that you see or make and then take. Taking more than one photo, sure it may work to a goal, and it did work well in his three picture thing, but I just don't think it fits the idea of 'this is my picture, this is what I'm trying to portray.'
It may be one entry, but I think the entries ought to adhere to the more conservative (I suppose) one photo, one entry.

Morbid: This is how I had thought of it as wel, hence my posting this entry.
Rhynome: I am using halogen bulbs, but I realised this morning that I'd forgotten to turn them up to full power because we have an energy efficient switch to match the energy efficient bulbs :P.
@ Everyone: Can I get away with it this time for being creative, and then after that we can make it one photo? Pleeeeeeeease *puppydog eyes etc*

Awwww, yes Klips, of course you can... For me at least.
We may have rules, but the secret truth is we don't obey or enforce them, we're just scared of breaking them. Really, go through old threads if you must, this is what happens. So the rules are just showpieces and when picked apart don't really mean anything, and we don't care.
Anyway, everyone's opinions on things differ and more than one photo still has one photo, so that's good. We ought to take the easy route and just all be apathetic; it's got me this far unscathed.
You have one of those round wheely switches? They're great, but I always just put them on full because I either need light or I don't. If I need more I use a desk-lamp... the global warming police are probably reading this. Quick reference to my IP, bit of google, a 'whois'... oh dear. Can somone in a foreign country give me a place to stay until this all blows over, please?

Nahh.. I dont think i like this week's photos very much.
Okay, to all you lovely mods out there.. I am voting for Kendra, you see i wont be around for a couple of days.. i know you guys will miss me and stuff.. dont worry, keep your chin up and fight long and hard.
So mods, vote on my behalf when the time comes.
P.S: @Andre: Man that photo had so much potential, if only you had made a few adjustments, you would have had my vote. Like lighting, what you are wearing, camera angle, a real gun! Nice try though

Andre, I think the lighting works great, and I think the pic will get my vote so far. Very moody pic, tho pretty violent. :dead: It reminds me of the Hitman games. One crit would be to bump up the contrast a bit, to make the silhouette pure black because I can see your face now if I tilt my screen.
Claude you must have good knowledge in guns, it looks pretty real to me. :)

I use an acer LCD, settings as not to hurt me, I see a tie and some dark spots on the face like uncle Fester. It also depends heavily on whether I'm slouching or not... this forum is good for my posture.
Danzap, I'm not quite seeing the pop here, maybe pop music, but please enlighten me?

Should that be stickied do you think, or do you think too many people would mind if it went in [my] signatures. I don't see many, if any, sigs with images in, but hmm...
Can we have forum-subsection specific lay-outs; so we can ask to have it as a banner?
Anyway, enough musing, thank you Norwin, it's a funky little thing. My monitor's on default so it all seems fine... w00t!

well pop is music.....
isnt that enough?
if someone says pop to me i think at music at once...i sure not think bout some of the other things there are pics at.
Not if i dont see a pic but hear the word...
I see the thing pop in the pics at the contest this far but not if you just hear the word pop...

I think you can't have any pictures in your signature. Maybe sticky is suggestive but that is up to the mods :D
A special layout for the photography-section would be awesome but this is maybe too much effort.
