@ Hurricane: thank you for your comment, yeahhhh i will post more!!!

I just have doodled around and i finally got it: a painting technique that fits to me!

first image:
me <3 painterbrushes - here i drew some non-ref armsketches, and when i coloured 2 of them, i realized that i found the painting technique that belongs to me!!!! weeeeeeee

second one:
this sketch was done on oc to test whether this painting style is related to teh special brush on painter ix... and tadaa, fortunately it's not :D the eventfile is downloadable

edit: third image:
aye..something strange i created and the colouring over here is nothing special...

Dhalsim is sweet.

An Idea is to try painting or drawing your hand at least once a day- more if possible.

It's the easiest way to get some life drawing in each an every day!!

i was f*cking too lazy do draw 10 days, so i only drew 5 <(*-*<)
but this day i learned soooooooooo much.
i have read this awesome article by rebecca kimmel about opposing curves again and i tried it on everything i drew :D
plus i have tried adapting the capcome colouring style which amazes me every time i see it. it's not entirely the way the artist (whose name i still don't know) has done it, but it anyway improved my colouring skills.

on the colouring pic i have added the references i used. (they are fkdlsjdlkf great! can anyone tell me who drew that?)

YEAAAAAAAAA....-EEEEAAAHHHHH....-EHHH!!!!!!! :bashful:

today i was practicing drawing the bust...
1. using bammes as reference and trying to get this bust in my head >_<
2. i was watching the gnomon video of feng zhu, and i saw his background was grey. on his video he was talking about good silhouettes. thats why changed my background color on painter as well. here i also tried finding interesting shapes, nonref.
3. edit: i was searching for a project, a non-commercial one... and i have found a group creating a browser game. they want me to design characters for the different races. so i just sketched a bit and finished the first idea. dudes, he is sooooooo U.G.L.Y, but w/e :D

good show! keep finding those kickass silhouettes, and keep doing those anatomy studies.
when doing color studies, try to use more bold colors that steer away from the usual pink/brown hues that one associates with "real" skintones

damn highskool, makes me be busy all the time!
w/e ;p

okay, what i have realized the last weeks is, that i couldnt really draw.
since i started learning more about art, i only saw the technical side of art, how to construct things, color theory etc.

but what i needed is the experience, drawing with intuition, getting away from all those constructions. i guess i have to learn drawing all over again and this is the the first step i've done:

Hey!
Sorry I didn't post in your sb the first time I came through here, that was terrible of me.

Wow, Your Line work is great and the photoshop stuff is coming along amazing to. (worlds ahead of me anyway) I have twice browsed through here faster than I wanted to. I can't wait till I get an opertunity to look through this stuff in greater detail. Have you ever played the Soul Caliber games? Some of the streetfighter stuff reminds me of the art in that. Excellent work.

Can't crit anything at the moment. It all looks too good. I'll try to find something later. Keep up the work. Post every day.
I will be back soon. 8)

SSG's are for posting in your buddies sb's as often as possible so here I go again.

You have got to help me with my photoshop painting. Your style is awsome, and I can't figure out how you get it to look like that.

How are you using the opacity settings? Do you have them set to the stylus pressure? In this last post for example how many colors are you using? Are you using a hard brush? If not what brushes are you using?

Alright I'll stop there and let you aswer those before I ask any more.

By the way, you can draw alright, don't question that. I think maybe you are saying that you want to put more emotion into your art. Rather than looking at it from a strictly technical view, you want it to be an expression of yourself. Is that what you are trying to say?
