sezcat. i voted for you cuz your picture reminds me of the movie The Cube
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0123755/
if you want to see a movie about 'freedom', watch this one!
not to mention it has 2 sequels, so if you like this, check out the entire trilogy!

Cube is an awesome movie! HyperCube is really good too and the prequel Cube Zero is really interesting and also still cool
I'm hoping for a fourth

Here's my C&C:
Klips: Awesome photo man, I love it. A joy to behold. Would have voted for you if I could. :P
Chilipepper: It's a nice photo, and the pose is good, but it feels like it needs more contrast, it's almost as if the water has come and washed out the photo ;). Aside from this it is good.
Alucard: Ah, again I am relegated to second :D. I like yours, but the figure is too dark. If the model had a lighter jacket and more definition against the background it could have been excellent.
Atlantis: I'll be honest, from the colours and the pose it looks more like a snapshot than an artistic photo. The people are nicely placed in the photo, but the rest really doesn't do much for me. More saturation and maybe a closer crop could have helped.
Stine: It's a great photo, the colours are lovely, great composition, but it screams imprisonment rather than freedom. If it was solely a best photo from this selection yours would have got my vote, but I feel it shows the antithesis of the theme rather than the theme itself.
Samsite: While I understand that this photo portrays freedom to you, it really doesn't to me. Not bad composition, black and white was a good move, but doesn't really fit the theme for me.
Sezcat: this is an incredible photo, and got my vote. Great angle, great composition, great use of light. Keep it up!
Andre: while I love adelaide churches (city of churches, so you'd kinda hope they were good) it really doesn't speak of freedom to me, more lovvely architecture.
Drgutman: This is a great photo, and I love the expression on the girl's face. I think the background really speaks of freedom though, as freedom of expression through plays other performing arts are a strong part of my background.
Justin: this is a good concept, but the dof is too shallow for me. Comes second for the best expression of freedom, however, as I too appreciate the freedom associated with painting/drawing/creating.
Deodatus: Like stine's photo, this speaks to me of oppression rather than freedom. The photo looks like a cut-out from an old National Geographic, the framing is weird and the contrast is poor. Doesn't do anything for me.
Thanks for a good challenge, I look forward to the next one!

stine would have had my vote except, for me, it doesn't say freedom in anyway. ifeel like it needs to speak freedom without a title. if the title needs to explain how it relates to freedom then its not for me. but it was my favorite picture technically.

Stine got my vote. And for all those who say its doesn't really say freedom...Of course it does. Barb wire is made\designed to prevent people having the freedom of breaching your space or to stop you from having the freedom to breach someone else's space. It was also used to keep you from having your freedom i.e prison fences and walls. Its exactly freedom.
Here's my C&C:
Chillipepper: It's a nice photo, and the pose is good, but it feels like it needs more contrast, it's almost as if the water has come and washed out the photo ;). Aside from this it is good.
Kilps thanks for the comment. I see what you meen. Only I left the photo to look like more of a dream, as freedom can be a figure of your imagination, and out there, where she is..(my fiancee) all you have is freedom and it does seem like a dream. Thanks mate

Justin, I loved the colors, somehow, that struck me as the most free-ing.. liberation of the eyes.
Stine would have been my second, like mollyduker said, technically really well done. But it speaks of torture or imprisonment, NOT freedom at all!
Freedom has to do with a new hope.. lots of the photos show THAT Hope.

I really hope we are not getting a tie again . :)

uuuh, still tied. if this won't change until the poll closes, i'll be happy to step back for sezcat. thanks for all your kind replies - but i think her photo represents the topic way better than mine, so she would deserve the win and we spare ourselves another poll and get a new topic sooner. :) again, thanks for your nice words and your votes!
