2-3 Full/Part time Concept Designers needed
Please note, this is not a paid project.

Details
Nuclear Dawn is a Modification currently in development for Half Life 2.

The modification, is the first announced 'real time strategy' / 'first person shooter' for Half life 2. What this means is, one player from either side gets to play as the commander, a top-down-view that can issue infantry orders, build various structures and defence systems for his or her team.

After showing some of the work and ideas already done for the mod, I have grabbed the attention of several writers for some big PC gaming magazines in the UK (of whom are good friends) a review in one of these is pretty certain.

Scenario

The scenario of this mod is set in the not so distant future, in an aftermath of World War 3. The maps will primarily be cities and building complexes, (abandoned, desolate, wasteland like feel). With an arsenal of over 14 weapons, from the standard 'real life' weapons to some 'hi-tech' weaponry.

Work Involved

If you decide to take up this task, you'll be responsible for designing concept art for the structures, mapping scenarios, and player designs. We have an active team and I'll personally keep in contact with you on a daily basis, I'll even buy you a jar of coffee every week for those caffeine addicts amongst us ;)

We currently have 14 core-team members, of which include two full time advanced C++ programmers coding 50+ hours/week (die hard gaming fans)

Since one of my past professions was a web designer, In return I can design a professional looking portfolio online, with web space, a domain, email and anything else related free of charge.

This kind of project can be an effective portfolio builder in between any paid projects you might have, especially if your trying to get a head-start in the gaming industry.

If your interested please get in touch with me at defcon@email.it with any work you have done or for further information about the work in question.

Kind Regards,
David "Defcon" Lyon

May I also refer you to my "scraps" section of sketches/incomplete works: http://pyra.deviantart.com/gallery/scraps/

I am interested in helping out with your game as well. I've done some concept art in the past on a couple of smaller projects and would love a chance to do more work. You check out my portfolio and sketchbook by following the links on the bottom of this post. I also tried to email but it was bounced back. Look forward to hearing from you.

Holy Crap! This post has been resurrected four times!

This is why we don't post portfolio links in job post threads, even free ones. Otherwise they just get longer and longer and waste peoples' time.

(Sorry to bump this once more)
