Hi all! This is my first post here on the forums, and I wanted to get some feedback on my sculpy project. It's a futuristic, dwarf-like, war-beaten soldier guy... the Warhammer 40K look just happens to be a side effect, I wasn't really *aiming* for that :)

First my concept sketch:

And the pic of my sculpy head:

Let me know what you think! Btw, this is the second head I've done, and my 4th sculpture altogether.

Well, i like it, a kind of mystic character, but i think his glass eye can't hold like this, you need another strap under his ear i think.
And i think the base is a little bit too small, it should be more impressive with shoulders, my personal opinion

i like his hair and beard, ears are really nice, nose and eye
you should paint it
bravo

That's awesome. How big is it
The texture on the face is fantastic. I think though, that the hair isn't quite as nicely done as the rest; it seems a bit thick.
Looking foreward to more of you work.

i think the hair is fine but i suggest u push the details more.
i hope this isnt baked yet.

well i have some suggestions:

i think he could use a deep scar system around his glass eye.
he does need a strap under the ear to hold the eye.

the metal rings around his beard and the long hair in the back, i think they could use symbols of sorts.

on the side of the glass eye contraption, on the second picture. i think he needs a massive bolt in the side metal of the eye piece, to shot that its nailed into his skull.

he needs some symbols around the colar of his costume.

just more details on the body, and make the ribbed thing on the right a little less sloppy.

just some ideas

hey thanks for the feedback. I'd love to spend more time developing this, but I had to turn it in for class, and it had to be baked... too bad really.

I'll definitely take all of your comments into consideration when I make this character in Maya, hopefully in the next week or so.

As for the hair, style-wise I think it works and looks okay, but it is very unpolished. I basically just used an extruder tool and squeezed out a bunch of thin ropes. I was hoping the alchohol would kinda blend it in a bit more, but the more i brushed it the more it would break... its generally just a bad way to make hair :)

It stands in at just under 7" btw.

Nice model! Nice hair and I like the stern look on his face.

The left goggle strap seems a bit off though. It bends like it is being held up by something where there is nothing (but hair). I think it should rather bend like that at the left ear.
