War of the Worlds Tripod Redesign

Here's another quicky. I tried to redesign the good old War of the Worlds Martian Tripod.
I know I know, the bottoms of the legs look like a protractor or whatever that geomatry tool is that you draw circles with. I didn't notice it until someone pointed it out to me.
I'm bad at doing 3/4 angles so I'll try to figure out what his body would look like from the front some other time.
Oh yeah and I know I forgot the cage on the back for captured humans.
Any comments are welcome. Actually they are wanted and appreciated.

That's a wild sketch, love the thought you put into it. I remember reading that book about 5 years ago, and it still sticks in my mind as very cool.

Don't get discouraged, it all depends on how much, and how long you've been drawing. I'm almost 20, and there are people who are much younger than I who are better artists. I can't compare myself to them, because they have been drawing quite a bit longer than I (years).

What a weird coincidence. I'm in the middle of reading the story again, and I was also planning on doing my own interpretation of the Martian Machine. It's always cool to see other people's visions.

Good work on the design. The only thing I can really suggest is a bit more color practice with lighting, etc. to help the image pop.

That's such a great fricken rendition of that machine! I love it The only thing that I would do is to change the large middle cockpit area .. I'd just make it look a little more 1950's esque like streamilne it a bit

And I dig the heat ray-eye things. Are they a nod to the 50's movie versions?
