There is definately something horribly wrong with the face... I just can't put my finger on it, no matter how I flip the image and look at the reference...
Soo, I need help!

It's a bit too obvious that I had a better ref for the face than the jacket...

(I'm so disturbed by the fact that I can't remember where I got the ref pic, who is in it and so on... sigh, gotta get it to look a bit different.)

Any chance you could post the reference? It looks fine to me :)- but I don't know what you were aiming for.

The first thing I noticed was that a medium gray value was going into the dark value of his eyebrow. The flat plane below the eye seemed a little too dark and to thick at it's end. I tried to get the front planes of the face to read a little better, so darkend the front of the nose, cheek area, and flattened the forehead just to show the formchange a little better(I know there can be a lot of variety in this area, but rather than try to guess at how it looks I opted just to flatten it a bit). I also added some value where the nose meets the brow to press it in a little, which was just a guess since the guy could have had one of those Greek noses.

Thanks!

gigglepixie, I don't want to post the reference, since I'd rather not have the picture look like the poor person in the image I have snagged for my own purposes. So, I guess, the ref wouldn't really tell you what I was aiming for...

Thanks a lot, armando! I hope I got it all fixed...
(He does, in fact, have a rather, hmm, shapely forehead, but it looks better without the oddities.)

I changed the eye to look a bit more like the ref and it (suprisingly :tihi:) looks better, I think. Now I worry - do the two eyes match at all?
Lowered the brightness aswell, it looked... a bit too gray before?

I might be wrong because it looks ok, but it feels like his mouth is a little off center from the rest of his face. It feels like his chin might be a little short also, or maybe his mouth needs to be pushed up somewhat. Hehe I can't put my finger on it exactly, I think the beard makes it harder to tell but I think something funny is going on there. The new eyes are looking good, I'd like to see the rest of this guy tightned up he's a pretty cool looking character.

I vote on the mouth needing some tweaking aswell.

Ak! I thought I had learned to watch my chins, but there they go again...
Thanks a bunch! I was being way too focused on the eyes.

Hope I got the mouth fixed, thanks for the comments Some_Guy and sciboy!

Tried to get the hair and fur look better...
