This is pretty much my favorite series I've ever shot. I usually get to shoot two girls a month and try and create unique ideas for each... I've only been doing this for the past year so I don't have too many, but I'm definitely enjoying it as I go.

Thoughts? Crit?

wow, love the colors, especially the way the sun brightens up the hair. i personally feel the pictures would look better if they didnt have the sun glare, so they would appear more crisp. also i think pic#4 would look better if it had the color balance and brightness of pic#3.

keep up the good work, this is some great stuff!

I think first one is too exposed for my liking.
Photo 2 and the last also have too much sun.

However 3 and 4 really do the job well!

I'm sort of a pro-sumer. I have a degree in film with a minor in photography. When I was in film school I was always impressed with the other photo students and really wanted to strive to keep up with them, but they always seemed better than me. So I just worked really hard at home to try and create a look that was my own. This is the result. All these photos above were taken with a consumer Canon Digital Rebel with the kit lens and a Sigma brand flash unit. It also doesn't hurt that the model was very good and didn't require much direction.

Great work but you really should get a lens hood to stop the sun from shining on the front element.

i like number 3 but i dont like the hand on her head. i know hard to change now but it has a sureal effect to it and her pose could be better matched to it.

Yeah... she was a really fast model. She kept changing poses everytime the shutter when off... so I didn't direct her so much as trying to capture her. in fact she moved so fast that my camera didn't have time to buffer all the images. Looking back at this pick (#3) it would have been a lot stronger if she had been looking off screen, maybe in profile? I know what you mean though.
