That's sweet dude. I wanna see the other two. :D

What was wood like? I imagine the paint goes on more... smeary. Or something.

Hey Daarken tight painting! Hey I don’t know if you remember me saying that I would try out pastels on one of your pastel process post. I finished a couple. I will post once I get my hands on a digi cam I did a master copy and a self portrait. I have painted in the past but that was before taking any type of art classes, so I hope to paint after a few life drawing classes and see what I come up with. As always your shit kicks azz.

Ha Daarken, was on your site erlier today and saw it there first! you have improved so much compared to your erlier thumbs on your site!

is this a school assignment or just fun practice?

his clothes are rendered a little to loose for my taste, but the face is really good.

tomasis: haha. um, i just use about 3 different sizes of filbert brushes, and then a smaller flat brush. the oils i use are utrecht brand, hah. they are cheap. pretty basic palette, cad red, yellow ochre, burnt umber, white, alizarin crimson, burnt sienna, ultramarine blue...i think that is about it.

cain: thanks! yeah i would love to see some of your stuff. post soon.

Awesome grit feel. The red in his features looks great with the teal in the background. Maybe his beard would have just a bit of a value change?
