Hello,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I've been holding off from posting any of my work here because it's mostly pin-up related stuff and I figured I'd spare ya'll from the monotony. ;) Not only that, but the artwork is of such a high caliber here, I figured if I'm gonna post something, it better be worthy of posting.
I'm trying to broaden the diversity of my portfolio and do some more fantasy type paintings. I've just finished this piece working in a new painting style for me (all hard paintbrushes, no airbrush) and I figured it was something worthy of posting here, or at least I'm hoping it is...

So you think you're ready to post, young man? HAH! All kiddin' aside, welcome! This is an intriguing piece, well thought out and also quite fascinating to see your process. glad you decided to step forward, and with such style! Enlighten us as to the story of this woman's extraordinary plight- the tattered veil at the apex of her, um, thingie are an evocative touch...

hey malachi, how come 2 nics? i'm assuming liquidwerx and malachi are the same person, since the webpage is the same in both profiles, and the AOL instant message handle in liquidwerx profile is "MalachiMonkey"
btw, i liked the face, although i liked the face in step 5 a bit better. :)

Na, that "malachi" is an imposter trying to slander me as soon as I've made my first post here. Undoubtedly it was the same person who just got banned from ArtBQ.com for pulling this same shite.
I've reported his/her posts to a moderator, hopefully it will be dealt with soon.
Oh, and "malachi"/"tagusa"/"Brierios", whoever you may be..., find some better things to do with your time than fallow me around.
Thanks to those of you who gave me a positive welcome. :)

I really like the color-scheme you used on this piece. I like the originality of the creatures poised to strike as well, they are quite unique. Is there a story behind the pic? I would love to know how the heck she got up/down there.

i think these posts by fakemalachi should be erased by a mod. it's plain ridiculous. why bring these ridiculous controversies on ca, it is just not acceptable.

Thanks for the comments guys. :)
We just found out over at ArtBQ that the person posting under "malachi" is non other than LANDMATE/Brierios/Tegusa. The slanderous pics post above are held on LANDMATE's server, the ip address is the same for all of them.
I'm sure if the mods/admins here do some checking, they'll find out this information is correct...

there is someone named Landmate who posts here, but i don't think it is the same person you are referring to. the Landmate who posts here posts his work to this host: www.porktaco.com and none of the pictures posted by the fake malachi here are from that host.
sorry to here someone is slandering you. why would he do that? i mean, he's following you around from board to board. did you give a crit to his work that he really didn't like or something? :D

Thanks for the comments, adien.
From my understanding, this matter has been handled elsewhere. I'd like to just move on and try to ignore the fact that this ever even happened.
Everyone think happy thoughts. :)
And thanks again for the warm welcome. Means a lot to me coming from such outstanding artists.

No one's using my site except me and me only. My actual name is Malachi Maloney. The imposter posted as "malachi" trying to look as though he was me.
Anyhoo, let's get back on topic now please. :)

Hey liquid...just wanted to add my welcome to the others. Sorry you had such a rude greeting. I can assure you that it is not typical of this forum and would encourage you to keep posting your work, it's beautiful. The step by step is also very much appreciated. It's always nice to get insight into other artist's methods!
Welcome!

Thanks for the feedback. :)
MCORRIERO~ Yea, I kind of took some liberties with the lighting on here face. Her face is white to begin with, because it's painted white like a geisha. Then I kind of amped the bright lighting on her face to make it stand out more, as she is the viewer's focal point in the piece. Thanks for the c&c, much appreciated. :)
Smeagol71~ Thanks so much for taking the time to welcome me, Smeagol. Very nice of you. :D
