Elemental dwarf is not a typical archetype of the dwarf race , they are little wizards who can control the nature elementals, this type is used to live in trees where they are bound to and protected.

Hi Myako.

I like the standing of the dwarf. It's a good pose for details.

- About your lines study, i think you do a good job. Maybe It would be intersting if you could enhace the lines with shadow lines. I mean by that to construct the dwarf by drawing a lot of littles lines. And the aglomeration of them would simulate the main lines. See an example :

http://www.henrys.de/daniel/comics/moebius.jpg

- Note the left hand of the dwarf holding the arc. the finger sould face the observer.

- About the legs try to make it more 3D by simulating shadows only with lines. I would be a good exercise. And then you will see more what is missing about anatomy and proportions.

Have a nice day

Right now, the arms look like a bunch of spheres stuck together. Get a book on anatomy, and note where the major muscles (deltoid, biceps, triceps) attach to the bones on both ends, and how they relate to each other. If you keep in mind this underlying bone/muscle structure, the arms will start to look better.

@guerrierhardcore
Merci beaucoupe, it´s really an interesting style i haven´t tried something like that before , will do this too!
Yeah you are right with the hand and the legs i will see what i can do , since i have to make all the arms new ^^

@MephistoLV
Yeah thanks man ,i saw that with the arms, they are pretty bad, i actually thought because he is a dwarf the muscle should be more thick and round but good idea i will go back to the normal muscle anatomy and try to do it better

thanks for the advices , will update it,

Love the work on the face. Looks old withput looking frail or weak, whioch is probably quite tricky to pull off correctly.

Bearing in mind I am not very good at anatomy at all, it appears as if the left arm is a little too short (much shorter than the right anyway) and maybe the arms arent connected to body correctly?

However, how you would fix it I have no idea! I am better at seeing how it should be than doing it.

Good. So Myako, I can't wait to see an update of your next steps with the dwarf.

Hey Myako, good to see ya posint stuff up. The dwarf seems to have mass, and the linework itself isn't bad, which says your studying is showing. The problem is that nothing reads very well (for example it's hard to tell if that is an undershirt he is wearing or...?). Also, you should study muscle structures and the way the interact with each other ,and having a working knowledge of the bones under the muscles dosen't hurt, and would help make more convincing anatomy for your creations. The face on the other hand is interesting.

Hey guys
Sry for the late update, this week i had 3 exams in high school and i only draw some random arm anatomy inbetween, yeah i know no excuse ;P , now here is my progress which i draw on the dwarf today , i think the spheres form, are now no more that distinctive shown as on the first or MephistoLV?
I tried to make it more real but also have many problems with the hands >-<
How do you think is the arm pose now?
Thanks for crits again, have much to learn ;D

And actually i only read the crit sticky today i think i posted this in the false thread hmm sry Mike ;_; , should go to sketch section, right?

@ thanks jerts , yeah you are totally right the arm was too small on the left side , i redraw my work ,so it shouldn´t be a problem for me to fix it also it is a good training ;D

@guerrierhardcore ;D thanks

@Sep
thanks man for the tips , i used it on my anatomy studies this week ^^

These new arms look a lot better than the first. I think the bigger problem with the first image is that the forearm wasn't flowing correctly out of the upper arm. There is actually a muscle there (forget the name) that starts on the humerus bone between the triceps and biceps. On the latest picture, on the dwarf's right hand (our left) you've got the notch of the ulna at wrist on the wrong side, it should be on the pinky side of the arm. Also his palm seems about half the size as it ought to be. Big improvement over the first pic though!
