View Full Version : Painter stuff (I need help :P)

I just got painter yesterday and started practising.
i made 2 things sofar and the R TeH suckage >_<
So I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips, like what kind of brushes do you use and what would be a good technique.

Try the 'oil pastel' and 'marker' brushes. They are not so unpredictable.

Also, what worked for me is to just get a picture somewhere from a movie or something and then try to visually copy it in Painter. (Helps to have two monitors for that trick or use hardcopy picture) In that way, you get a feeling of where the colors go and how to shade.

Try to use only bigger brushes in the beginning and don;t worry about details, they'll come later. Just take a one size brush for the whole picture and a monochrome palette (one color range) will make life easier for starters.

markers in painter? what are they called? felt pens? :confused:
I am mostly using the artistic brush. hmmm...
