Hi, my name is Andreas and I'm a twenty year old guy from Sweden. I found Conceptart through a friend of mine, Seer.
It wasn't until recently that I got interested in drawing again. Last night, to be precise. It's been an "interest-on-hold", for quite some years, but last night I had this sudden impulse. So I did my best to capture the posture of my own hand. This is the result. Hopefully I'll keep on drawing from this point on, and improve over time. Anyway, critique is welcome.

I'm sure you will improve if you keep at it, even though it has been put on hold for a few years. I'm in the same situation but I had it on hold for twenty plus years and just started back up a little more than a month ago. Anyhow, good luck on your quest :)

Tried to draw my self-portrait today. The strange thing was, the more I tried to capture my face the more it looked like a young version of my dad. Anyway, wanted to trace the lines with an Ink-pen, don't think I succedeed that well. ^^

Hey that hand aint bad at all, Never tried any but those things go wrong in instant. cool. The face youd rew, Ive been trying to figure out what went wrong. Proportion isnt that much of an issue, you got the features well enough and didnt get cought in iffy details. The thing that distracts is the neck, it seems to go on forever because the sleeve of your sweater blends in with your hair. Keep drawing lose and post some more :)

Did some sketches. Been trying to draw by moving my arm instead of my hand, so the lines tend to get pretty shaky. Oh yeah, and it's confusing. When I draw myself it looks like my dad, and when I draw my dad it looks like my grandfather. I seem to be a generation off with my portrait drawings. =/

drawing portraits is the hardest thing to do since every line needs to be right to get a resemblance. The shape, size, and placement would need to be almost 100% accurate. Not an easy task :)
