There are some people on this forum that realy keep it alive, legab, kelp, atlantus, cluaud I can go on for a wile, it would be realy nice to know about the people that we talk to and accept comments and critism from on a daily bases. And a little about me, Im 23, Have a small flat in the UK, i love me photography, I cant spell, Any thing about IT gets my interest, I do stuff because I can, or its diffcalt, not because i need to. Im doing a degree in arcutecture at the moment. My weapon of choice is a Nikon D50 (thanks insurance company) I have a very supportive GF who never complains about the time i spend here or driving around the country side pointsly to find a photo!!
my fave drink is jack danuals, and I work very hard!!! (just incase the boss is reading this)

Hi, I'm Klips or Paddy as most people know me. I am new to photography, but almost always have my camera (a pentax istDL) on me. I'm a uni student doing Commerce, which suprises most people when I first meet them as I am constantly kitted out with skateboard, camera bag and oversized headphones.

My aim in photography curently is to be able to consistently get good shots of anything I put my mind to. My main focus at the moment is parkour, but I am also trying to capture other sports like skateboarding and ultimate frisbee. I do my post production on my housemate's computer using photoshop CS1. I try not to use too much however, unless a photo needs it to become substantially better.

The concise stuff: I love parkour, I hate cold winds, people often think I'm older than I am, I am a pedant (and yes, I am fixing everyone's spelling mistakes in my head, even my own :P) I like a good beer with my mates and I hate staying still for too long.

Where to start?
I don’t like my old photos because I always recognize details which are not perfect. That is why I always go out and try to find the perfect shot again and again. Maybe someday I can say, this is my best and only one. (I guess this will never happen…)
I really don’t know for whom I am taking all these photos. I only know that I don’t take them for myself. I just enjoy taking photos and that’s probably the reason why I am continuing... Last time I saw myself in Rome taking photos before I actually had a look at what I am taking photos from. That was a strange feeling.
I got my first compact camera with 15 years. Two years later I worked my whole school-break to get enough money for my reflex-camera. One year later I got my second compact-camera and now I am heading for new lenses…
I have still one year school left and I really don’t have a clue what to do after school. I want to get to know other countries but I don’t know when.

Other hobbies are: Skimboarding, volleyball, music, art, clubbing etc… I will (hopefully) reach the age of 19 in exactly two days =D on Friday the 13th haha…
I live on a small island in the very north of germany (called “Sylt”) and this is where 99% of my photos came from. I am really lucky with such a nice location =) (… but I almost get the feeling that here is nothing more I don’t have already taken a picture from…)

Now I’m hungry and I maybe continue this text some other time. I will try to get some light-paint shots tonight.

I drive a 1980 BMW 323i which is fun, im into cars and photography, and i work in a supermarket called Foodland, where i work in a fridge and stack milk. its a COOL job.

umm, i love most british comedy but especially LOVE monty python, black books, and fawtly towers.

i used to have pretty emo-ish hair untill the otherday when i shaved it off cos i was bored, and now im a skinhead! :P


i run a month old (wow, its EXACTLY a month old today) canon eos 400d which i love, with the 18-55mm kit lense, and a 80-200mm lense which i bought second hand.

Im currently 'enrolled' in a uni course called Industrial Design, but i dont go, and dont have to even pay for it. Next year, im hoping to get into a tafe course for photography and then possibly do a teaching degree after that. so yeah, thats a bit about me! :)

I haven't been around much in the last couple months but I guess I will do this anyway.

My name is actually Laura. Normally, I live in Missouri, US, but now I am in school in Philadelphia. I have a Pentax SuperProgram that is 21 years old (three years older than me) and I haven't been able to take pictures since I got to school because I have no way of developing them. I am hopefully going to buy a point and shoot type digital camera soon (as much as I would love a DSLR i can't afford it). Next semester, I am going to be taking a photography class for the first time ever. I like photography because I feel like I can show people what I see and how I feel (I know that that is very cliché but its true).

For me, life is a precious thing, and i like remembering things, i almost feel guilty if i dont somehow capture it all in some form.

That's how i got into photography.

For me, photography is about capturing a moment in the most artistic form according to how i feel at the time.
Therefore i have a huge photo folder to keep all my memories in one place.

My love for art has been a mixture of several influences from natural sources like light, shadow, sound, texture, water and such.

Apart from photography, i love music with all my heart, its my biggest dedication in life besides photography.
