i think im either using too many colors, or not enough, or just maybe the wrong ones? im at a loss. i want her skin to be warmer, and the headdress is supposed to be made of glass, but i dont think thats coming though....
figured id come to the pros for help before scrapping it all together and starting over.....

i like the colors. I think it might just need some more contrasts. you know, lighter lights and darker darks. once you have that then you can focus on the details.

You've got to start pulling some lights out, especially in the skin tones, to establish your value range for the whole piece. Once you do that you can fiddle around with the color, but I suspect what you think is a color problem is really more of a value problem.

Also, try a harder edged brush on the headdress to really get the glass effect.

Good start!

Wouldn't go too light on the figure itself, keep it in the shade. But the face and upper part of the body could use some more definition and lighting.

Probably also need to try out having cool tones more on the figure as the bg is so warm and yellow. The purple could be augmented by blues more than taking it to red/orange, that may only happen at the edges. Try green!

Keep it mysterious!
