View Full Version : Painting with a picture as a brush ?

...and im not talking about texture brushes.

A buddy of mine would like to know how or even if its possible to paint with a image. (i told him already it would end up looking like crap and he should do the job with a texture brush but he just wont listen so i said "fine...i`ll ask around if you will shut up !")

Any help would be really aprecciated...(oh and hes using Photoshop Elements...2 i think...if that does matter something)

You mean he wants to be able to apply a complete image, colors and all, using the brush tool? Can't be done in Photoshop. Painter's Image Hose is the closest thing.

You can, of course, use the grayscale values of an image to define how much paint a brush puts down. Just select the image and hit Edit > Define Brush Preset. But this won't actually apply the image--it'll just apply color in the pattern defined by the image's grayscale values.
