sampler tool is acting up. all of a sudden it samples only the secondary colour

I don't know if it's something I inadvertantly did, but now my colour sampler tool in photoshop samples as the SECONDARY colour (see RED in my attached image) instead of the colour that is in use.

In other words, I sample a colour from somewhere, and I have to swap the colour pallettes in order to use the colour I have chosen. It's really annoying. Help!

mine has been doing this too, ive been trying to find out why. ive looked thru diff settings but couldnt find anything.

Relax. Open the color palette. Click the the topmost color chip (foreground color). Done.
